Lots of questions this week on purple corn. Previous crop of Sugarbeet and Canola are showing worst symptoms. Hopefully with some heat and sun corn will find more P and green up quickly!

Corn fields in Eastern ND and NW MN are faced with fallow syndrome right now. This is visible from purpling of the leaf and stem due to phosphorous deficiency. The P deficiency is from low presence of my mychorrizae that grow in and on roots to assist in the immobile P uptake.

Hopefully the last soil temperature update of 2025. No doubt that the corn fields that worry me the most with this temperature dip are the ones that had not emerged yet, and especially those early planted fields with coleoptiles that had hit a crust before the rains and cold.

I am a huge advocate for doing the little and free things right in farming. Great example here with a planting depth check-in on a Lidgerwood corn field looking exceptional! Into moisture, 2 inches depth, and row cleaners doing a nice job in no-till bean stubble.

After a good soaker yesterday the temps sure did drop! Looking ahead as soils get fit for planting again temps are on the rise and fast emergence conditions look likely. #plant25 is about to go full steam in the North! @Asgrow_DEKALB

Four different planting date multi location scenarios listed here. Soils are still cold as many areas are in the low 40s. Warmer temps are around the corner with moisture in the forecast. Last week of April looks promising for kicking off #plant25! #DEKALB

Planning for #grow25 and looking back at data/applications that moved the needle in 2024. Plant health and white mold control with multiple modes of action in Delaro Complete did just that! Combine that with a high quality insecticide to control key pests was the cherry on top.
