Manmade #GlobalWarming
Melting ice is currently saving us
from the worst heating.
During melting,
ice absorbs
as much energy
as would be required
to heat an equivalent mass of water to 80°C.
The temperature of the ice remains constant at 0°C | 32°F during the melting process.
94% of refugee camp residents go without #energy. Grassroots pioneers are changing the story – powering lights, fridges, phones and more. At #COP28, we’re urging funders, investors and policymakers to back local #solutions: https://t.co/EqjDMgP3Il
Don’t believe the lies: CP2 and LNG won’t benefit the local communities, lower energy prices, or reduce emissions. Allowing more LNG exports only makes Big Oil & Gas richer while we pay the price. Take action: https://t.co/zy2YKSBhYo #StopCP2

Bob Watson Leading British Climate Scientist
He's pessimistic about even achieving 2C and worries "that if we allow the target to become looser and looser, higher and higher, governments will do even less in the future."

Greenhouse Gas levels in the atmosphere have reached record levels.
It's just the beginning.
The laws of physics apply.
This will continue to trap heat and globalwarming #climatechange#actnow
End burning fossilfuels
Use renewable energy
Watching Question Time. Seems no politicians understand we are going to have ONE BILLION REFUGEES by 2050 because of climate change. https://t.co/HcS9mRbxDq #bbcqt
Rosenergoatom☢️reported that turbine blades broke at the Leningrad nuclear power plant west of St Petersburg on Sunday.
The 2 reactors there are of the same type with the ones that will be used in Turkey and planned for use in Hungary.
@guardian
One of the biggest nuclear projects in the world is being built in Turkey (Akkuyy) right beside the Mediterranean coastline. 4 huge reactors. Meanwhile scientists tell us the West Antarctic ice sheet melting is irreversible. Go figure.
Alberta would need to cover 154 km2 with solar panels to achieve a net-zero electricity grid by 2035. By comparison, in 2013 the disturbed area from oilsands development was 895 km2. @S_HastingsSimon
Understanding and quantifying the global #methane#CH4 budget is important for assessing realistic pathways to mitigate climate change. Atmospheric emissions and concentrations of CH4 continue to increase.
CH4 second most important manmade greenhouse gas
