On Tuesday I successfully defended my dissertation!ย I am extremely grateful for the guidance and support of my committee. I will graduate at the end of August. Excited to discover what comes next for me! https://t.co/lCegnH1EoW
Who's a ArcGIS and Adobe Illustrator wizz and can tell me why my nicely colored data points with a black outline come out as a black dot on top of the color dot when I export to Adobe Illustrator? #help @ArcGISPro @Adobe
@Lachs_w @ArcGISPro @Adobe I'm exporting as an adobe illustrator file. I want to be able to tweak stuff in illustrator and not just have a "flat" image. I just changed the symbols to be simple marker symbols instead of whatever I was using before and that fixed it!
@KatyPeplinCoach Really good to hear an honest account, I've been feeling bad for getting to "brain mush" stage by the afternoon... so close to done so I feel like I have to keep pushing. #needabreak
@CGaenzler@TIBCO What analysis are you doing in your gif? Man, there's so much to this program and I feel like I've only scratched the surface!
#slowreply#phdlife
@TIBCO, just wanted to say Spotfire is an awesome program. Thanks.
Manipulating data/finding trends for Chapter 3 of my #dissertation and Spotfire makes it so easy ๐คโฅ๏ธ
@mrkwpalmer Chapter 3 is a integration of published low-temperature #thermochronology data from Appalachian terrane and coastal eastern US. I've used #spotfire to search through my database more efficiently, determine trends in thermal histories, and find correlation with key features!
Thanks again to everyone who came by my poster last week at the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (@AAPG) #ACE2018! I enjoyed presenting on my research and talking with those interested in its applications.
I'm excited to announce that I will be attending the Bighorn Basin Field Award this summer! Just filled out my paperwork and booked the flight today. Thank you to @geosociety and @exxonmobil for this amazing opportunity. https://t.co/NVWPMS0UCq
Get into The Field with GSA!
The deadline to apply for the Bighorn Basin Field Award, the
Field Camp Scholar Award, and the Field Camp Excellence Award is 23 March. If you are interested in applying, please visit https://t.co/2El0wVfYY3
@AAPG Attendees! Come chat tomorrow, 9:30-11:00 am & 2:30-4:00 pm with @FissionC P.87 Post-Orogenic Exhumation of the Northern Appalachian Basin & the Timing of Hydrocarbon Generation: Low-Temp Thermochronological Constraints From NY & PA in the Exhibit Hall. #ACE2018#AAPG2018
Thanks to @Larseneirik for joining us for a chat about hydrocarbon exploration using #MachineLearning and what's going on with his team: https://t.co/Z13g0lCSxO
I love #teaching#geology but I need to focus on my research too so I try to get all of my #TA duties done in blocks. Today I taught 3 recitations, held office hours, planned next week's recitation activities and attended the TA meeting for #Oceanography.
Me, right about now:
