"Using blood lactate as a metric is impractical for most nonprofessional cyclists" - With Fit-Report you can take a Lactate Threshold test for less than you think. Still a great article though. #cycling#sportscience#trainingzone

@Go1MoreMile@StephenSeiler VO2 Max is a valid test, the over reliance on smart watches is what worries me. However, agree that having an output and improvement plan as result is the most important thing, not necessarily the result. Or is it..? Helps benchmarking?
@Go1MoreMile@StephenSeiler Coaching and Diagnostics are 2 different things... As long as 1 doesn't pretend to be a substitute for the other, there's no issue. The issue is that these 2 areas of sport science are not well linked. Coaches don't have diagnostic kit and test centres don't have proper coaches.
We are looking for participants to undergo free VO2 Max Testing in February and March.
To be considered please like, retweet and tag anybody that may be interested. We are looking for participants from all sporting disciplines.

@OutputSports@lifeofmoreilly@DonoghueEamon@siliconrepublic Absolutely, we'll definitely arrange a date to get you into our labs. Although, we're secretly hoping your technology isn't too advanced or you'll put us out of business! π³
@OutputSports@lifeofmoreilly@DonoghueEamon Great to see advancement and new applications of technology in sport. Even though Fit-Report focuses on delivering lab-based testing, we'll certainly be keeping an eye on this wearable. https://t.co/5kelWLZPP7 via @siliconrepublic
Restrictive dieting, excessive training, low body fat or a combination of these, brings the risk of early-onset osteoporosis. Remember that DEXA scans measure bone density, in addition to fat and muscle, and could help detect such issues. @OsteoporosisSoc #WorldOsteoporosisDay
@pt_steveb Yes and that's a shame really. For anyone starting out or doing a "Couch to 5k", LT and pacing shouldn't be the priority. But anyone half serious about running who doesn't know or understanding their LT is seriously missing out on potentially huge improvements to their race time.
