11) Hamas was originally a charity organization when it was still part of the Muslim Brotherhood proper. Their move towards "extremism" and branch off into their own entity -- read: "armed resistance against the occupation" -- was a direct result of the same consistent abuses under occupation in the same time period that led to the First Intifada.
