COVID will be with us for many years to come, and it's unthinkable that every autumn from now on, we will be limiting the quality of life for all citizens ‘just to be on the safe side.’
This is a slippery slope down which I don't want to slip. I'm not supporting these measures.
I'll vote against #COVIDPassports because:
- No evidence they work
- Not justified in absence of scientific evidence on Omicron
- We don't discriminate on a medical basis
- Very high vaccination rates
- The road we're on leads to a very real cost to lives e.g schools closing
I will be voting against the introduction of vaccine passports on Tuesday. Their effectiveness is unconvincing and the impact on our hospitality industry and major events businesses, who have already had to sacrifice so much, would be unjustified. #peoplebeforepolitics
After much thinking I’ve come to the conclusion that I can’t support Covid plan B. I just don’t think the justification is there and I fear that the mindset/logic that led to it could well lead to a gradual creep towards more and more draconian restrictions.
Gov’s guidance for working from home doesn’t make sense.
COVID Passes will place burden on local people & businesses.
I will be voting against these plans.
We need to learn to live with virus & cannot continue stop/start with restrictions.
👉 Focus must be on vaccine rollout.
On Tuesday I will vote against the ill-thought out, damaging and confused Plan B restrictions.
Rather than restrictions, the Government should focus on massively expanding the booster programme and rapidly rolling out new therapies, such as Paxlovid.

🗽Please support your MP to vote no. Thank you 🙏

🤺Voting against the Govt is tough for MPs when Opposition support guarantees Govt victory.
🤗MPs are only human too - they need your encouragement please 🙏
I have grave concerns over any form of covid passport and the inequality they create. I don’t want to live in a society that excludes or segregates people based on their medical status or beliefs and therefore will not be supporting these measures next week.
I have always promised that I would serve the people of #Broxtowe. It has been made very clear to me by listening to my constituents that they do not support the introduction of vaccine passports, therefore I cannot support the vaccine passports either.

I have long been a critic of vaccine passports having previously raised the matter in the chamber, so will vote against their introduction next week.
The new restrictions are conflicting and damaging where you are to work from home but go to parties.
I cannot support Plan B
There is no evidence that vaccine passports stop the spread of Covid.
I didn’t vote for them at Holyrood and I won’t be voting for them at Westminster.
