"Appendiceal tumors harbor different molecular features from colorectal cancers...They present and spread differently, don't respond to the chemotherapy most colorectal tumors do"
"My advice is to trust yourself when it comes to your health. If you feel like something is wrong, advocate for yourself. It’s especially important as a young person...my symptoms were dismissed so many times because I was seen as a young healthy person..."

He never charged copays, often covered medications out of his own pocket, and gave out his personal phone number so families could reach him anytime. His dedication to the community was unwavering.
Then, in a cruel twist of fate, Dr. Z was diagnosed with two different forms of cancer. A paperwork issue caused him to lose his own health insurance, leaving him facing radiation treatments costing more than $150,000.
When his patients learned of his situation, they rallied together. More than 3,400 people contributed to a GoFundMe campaign, raising over $250,000 to help cover his medical bills.
Even while battling cancer, Dr. Z continued seeing patients every day. His remarkable story of compassion and community reciprocity was later honored in the official U.S. Congressional Record.
Can too much exercise harm the brain?
This study suggests that excessive vigorous exercise triggers muscle-derived mitochondrial vesicles that travel to the hippocampus, disrupt synaptic energy supply, and impair cognition.
The findings reveal a surprising muscle-to-brain pathway linking overtraining to memory and cognitive decline—and suggest that more exercise isn't always better. #Overtraining #Mitochondria #Cognition @WuTsaiAlliance

All-cause sepsis cases and deaths have skyrocketed since Covid entered the chat. Recently, two well-known people (Kyle Bush and now Daveigh Chase) have died of sepsis. And I want to dive into this a bit. 1/
Anyone got good resources for me to pass on to a friend re being treated for #cancer whilst also got #MECFS ? Thank you in advance - will pass on all links etc shared.
i got a sore throat in 2023 and 3 weeks later my balls 🥜 hurt worse than they ever have for 6 weeks straight - I’m talking sickening pain. an ache like I got kicked in the nuts but it never. had to get an ultrasound and was told “viral inflammation”
I am supporting an astonishing number of people with prostate cancer through my work, and more friends and family have been diagnosed separately in the last 6 months too.
I can't help but wonder if the effect that Covid infection can have on lung cancer also applies to prostate.
The hospital didn't know i was on 4 litres of oxygen during transportation, even though I've been on 4 litres most days in there.
They were obsessed with me being on 2 litres, and gave a half empty cylinder to the transportation team.
I'd normally have an oxygen level of 95%. I looked down at my oxygen meter and was 83%!
The transportation assistant changed me to their cylinder but my oxygen pipe was kinked so none were getting through. I was now going down at 77%.
Luckily we were outside my house. They got me inside and connected the big oxygen generator up my oxygen started coming up.. phew!
F'ing stupid nurses ( not all ). I feel big time for the people in the community that as to spend longer than a week dealing with idiots.
Don't get me started on morning medications!! They don't listen.
I should have gone to my normal hospital if it hadn't been for a paramedic with an attitude.
You might wonder why sickness benefits claims have doubled since a SARS virus has been left to rip. You might want to reconsider "living with Covid" rather than cutting support for disabled people
