🚨🎙️ Rio Ferdinand on Enzo Maresca leaving Chelsea for Manchester City:
🗣️ “I’ll be honest, I never thought we’d get to hear the full story from Maresca himself. For months, everyone was blaming the owners for sacking one of their best managers in recent years, but the club simply knew something the public didn’t.”
🗣️ “If a player or a manager no longer sees a club as the place he want, then why should the club want to keep him? Sometimes the biggest move a club can make is knowing when to let go.”
🗣️ “From Maresca’s side though, I found it disappointing. Chelsea gave him the biggest opportunity of his career. They took him from Leicester, trusted him with one of the biggest jobs in England and gave him a platform to build his name.”
🗣️ “You don’t leave a club like that halfway through a project because Pep Guardiola calls you. That’s not how you repay a club that believed in you before everyone else did.”
🗣️ “I actually respect Chelsea for acting immediately. Once they realized his mind wasn’t fully at the club anymore, they moved on instead of begging someone to stay.”
🗣️ “And look at who they’ve brought in—Xabi Alonso. A manager with a bigger résumé, a stronger personality and someone who can influence an entire football club, not just the starting eleven.”
🗣️ “Maybe Maresca leaving and Xabi becoming available at almost the same time wasn’t just a coincidence. It could be a blessing in disguise.”
The Charlotte Hornets front office saw their first successful team in a decade and said “You know what, let’s break up this young exciting team”. And people wonder why some franchises stay bad forever.
@J_Hooper_ Love Coby, but he’s short & other than that where’s the natural PG instinct? Where’s the strong wing defender that we had in Miles Bridges? Where are the lobs? City Excitement dissipating already. Adam Silver made a call and said “Hornets gotta suck.”
@hornets as Ice Cube said “Check YoSelf before you wreck YoSelf…” I need a coffee meeting with the front office. I promise I will turn this franchise around. Let me help the incompetence @hornets@hornets@hornets
@PrimeKnueppel You’re Ludacris man. “Let me pull a compilation of Melo’s missed shots,” meanwhile the dude was key to the best offense in the league the second half of the season.
Unbelievable. These people actually don’t know the players they are talking about.
I’m so shocked at the level of knowledge these people have.
“Can Ant learn to play off ball”
Legit was said. Ant is a SG at heart, he’s learned to play PG, not the other way around. 😂
Kendrick Perkins says there is a problem with a lot of people out here that don’t take LaMelo Ball serious:
“And I don’t know what’s the problem, I don’t know why people feel like this man is not a hooper or a competitor, I don’t know if it’s because he has the IG followers, he post on IG or he has the tattoos. But when this man steps between the lines, this man goes out there and gives people that work. I understand it may look like he’s having fun and he is, but at the same time he’s trying to bust your a** every time he gets between those lines”

Trade Grades for the LaMelo Ball Trade
Timberwolves - A+++++++
Minnesota FINALLY gets an elite playmaking guard to pair with the Rudy Gobert timeline. One of the best passers in the league and a player who immediately serves as a great table-setter for Rudy's long rolls, Ant can play off the catch a bit more and Minnesota is WAY better than they were with Julius Randle. The defensive infrastructure can more than protect LaMelo. McDaniels will continue to defend ball handlers and LaMelo's positional size allows him to hide on wings
Hornets - D
The Hornets FINALLY had a good season and they stripped away the driving force of it. Little disclaimer here, high slips and ghosts to get Kon the ball in advantage won't work quite as well with a 6'0" point guard instead of a 6'7" guard
Unbelievable to me here. There's a good chance Minnesota conveys zero actual swaps in this deal because Minnesota is just simply better than Charlotte.
I like Naz for the Hornets which saves this from being an F, but man. Why.
This is a slap in the face man. Unbelievable. Way to undo literally all of the good will you've built up with this fan base.
You're telling me you got a SINGLE first-round pick for the guy who got All-NBA votes this year.
Sure.
Jeff Peterson is choosing to blow up his franchise only to build around this. I am not exaggerating at all here, this is Nico Harrison level franchise suicide.
A Kon-Miller team is untenable without LaMelo’s playmaking brilliance. It doesn’t work. Hornets will have no future.
