Five Lives deliver hard-hitting workshops on the dangers of drugs, alcohol and self-harm to secondary schools and other organisations working with young people.

We had another fantastic visit to St James School on Friday. John and Melissa were helping Health and Social Care students with their coursework, to help them understand how addiction can affect people and what support is in place for them. We hope to be back again next year!

John and Vince had a very successful visit to Dawlish Community College last week. They talked openly about their lives and the challenges they have faced in order to help the Year 9 and 10 students have a greater understanding about the very real dangers of drugs.

John received a lovely card from a student at The KIng's School today. It said "You are helping so many people by doing what you are doing and you are held in such high respect. Despite your troubled past, you are a role model to me. You are changing lives.Thank you so so much."

A great session with Health and Social Care students at Sidmouth College yesterday. John and Melissa assisted them with their course work for their BTEC tech award on the impact of addiction and recovery on development. We were very impressed with the insightful questions asked.

Sidmouth College has evaluated its Impact Day for Year 11s. Over half the students ranked drugs and alcohol as the most important topic for their age group and 41 out of 50 students found the Five Lives workshops the most useful part of their day.

Our first visit of 2018 was to Colyton Grammar School. Ali, Melissa and John talked to Year 9s about their lives. This provoked really thought provoking discussions on the dangers of drugs, alcohol and self-harm. Thank you to Amelia Robinson for organising it all so brilliantly.
