@ComicDaveSmith Just...wow. I disagree with Sam Harris on most things, but this has to be one of the worst takes I've ever heard. Might even make someone like AOC blush.
@The_Real_Fly Given its history and usage, doesn't seem like there should be any changes to the definition of a recession. Should instead just qualify it - "We're in a recession, but unemployment remains low (for now)" type of deal.
@KalaMendoza I don’t really understand the rationale for this, given dominant variant is pretty comparable to the common cold/flu. At the same time, don’t understand why people give you a hard time for choosing to wear this. Do what you’re comfortable with - safe travels :)
@JonahLupton Plus, doesn't make sense to sell if buying a new place is much more expensive. And renting is an even worse option, with rents climbing even faster than housing prices.
@JonahLupton We'll see prices drop 5-10%, but not a housing crash. Persistent low inventory & limited new construction due to labor shortage, inflation / volatility in raw materials means supply-side will remain constrained.
@QTRResearch@zerohedge I disagree. Gronk is an incredible TE and Vin Diesel is great at portraying himself in movies. This analogy would imply that Pelosi and Schumer are actually good at their real jobs.
@krugermacro Nice thread, but will have to echo others in saying I strongly disagree with the idea that "They could not care less about the government's ability to service its debt." They absolutely would care, and it would trigger the very thing you just mentioned: markets would break.
@TMFMathGuy @elonmusk Why take a company public at the worst possible time? Practical thing would be to IPO when overall market sentiment is better and macro conditions improve.
@garyblack00@EmmetPeppers@elonmusk May not be that difficult to build a better platform from purely a tech perspective, but user acquisition and network effect can be very challenging and costly.
Worst case, Elon can eat the $1B breakup fee, knowing that either way, $TWTR valuation will be corrected, and he can re-initiate his takeover bid at a lower price. A matter of when, not if.
