🇯🇵 First game, first double. Slo-mo side angle look ‘27 Lea Matsumoto (@leamatsumoto) in the @FiveToolTexas DFW Regional.
The 5-10, 190-pound OF/1B out of Tokyo, Japan, smokes a 2-run double to deep left-center field in his first game of the summer. Had two solid ABs earlier. Looks comfortable in the box and got his barrel to the ball quickly. Power should continue to Playing for @TexasCannonsBB@2027Johansen.

30.2 IP, 21K, 12 BB, 3.23 ERA.

It’s going to be a really great year for @Buco_Baseball (KS) sophomore Yusei Uzawa (@yuseiuzawa).
🇯🇵 The 5-7, 170-pound 2B/OF from Chiba, Japan, competed nonstop in his first games of the year. Found ways to impact the game reaching base 5 of 9 times, stealing three bags (had 42 last year) and scoring three runs. Was a vacuum at second base making every play his way. Also kept a runner from a double on a quick cut down while playing left field. Things that will all translate to the next level for the @TCU_Baseball signee.

The players from this showcase range from the highest of D1 caliber to all other levels of next level baseball. I’ve broken it down for those colleges trying to navigate the Japanese recruiting scene.
