In spite of our best efforts to find an alternative solution that would allow Fivebucks to live on, today we've had to resume our shutdown operations. Current users affected by the shutdown should write to [email protected]. The whole process may take up to 1 month.
Sad to see @FivebucksC shutting down. This was the business that brought me into the Bitcoin space and it's CEO helped me on my journey and transition from BCH to BSV. I'll remain forever indebted to the Fivebucks team and wish them luck in their future endeavors.
@Arco91 Any freelancer can easily sign up and doesn't even have to worry about how bitcoin works until they sell and have revenue to withdraw. That creates incentive for them to learn and makes for a smooth onboarding process. Non-BSV users are the happiest ones on Fivebucks.
These were all features we would have developed down the line if we had seen a better business case. There was no business case. No matter where we look there is no user momentum in BSV. We achieved everything that could have been achieved with the current user population.
Escrow allows you to have a conditional task, crowdfunding allows you to have multiple contributors & recipients, and the more advanced revenue share allows your users to make some money (maybe).
Now the listing marketplace starts to look more powerful
@Arco91 Fivebucks does not target BSV users, it was part of our strategy from the start to target & onboard non BSV users. In the last couple of months, for eg, we keep getting sign ups & new listings from non BSV freelancers, but with no activity from BSV users there is no commerce.
@FivebucksC Aaaa, sad to hear this, got my first coding experience as a professional at fivebucks! (BIG thank you) (Yes, making even 1 is professional, and i made more!!)
Hope you come back with another project if not the same! Gl
@AttilaAros After a periodic review the premises upon which the project was launched and was being maintained no longer existed so we had to cancel it. Our projections proved to be inaccurate so we corrected our course. We're not blaming anyone. Thank you for your support by the way!
We created a platform/designed incentives. With more users/competition more and more unique services would have been listed as everyone tried to stand out from the rest. But there is no user population in BSV and we were the only ones fighting to increase it.
5. Sell unique items only possible with Bitcoin.
Why be a market place for things already listed on Fiverr? Why not be a market place where you sell Twetch DM access? Why not sell Coingeek Conference tickets?
Why not sell tokens?
Take a big swing inside a small ecosystem.
@OutputCapital@AzhellTom@liujackc@nChainGlobal@CalvinAyre@twetchapp What you code is more important than how you code it. The Fivebucks code might not be the finest code ever written, but the architecture/feature design is unique and valuable. Anyone acquiring it would get this information. Something @Fiverr has and is very jealous about.
.@liujackc FYI: Fivebucks has had 1500+ email verified user sign ups, 700+ created orders, 50 orders between $20 and $270, 86 between $10 and $20. There was no Fivebucks app, just a website version. RelayX, your mobile wallet, has 1000+ downloads. https://t.co/DCaUWIcB5x

@AzhellTom@liujackc Hello Zhell, thank you for your support through these years. Yes we'd be happy to sell the entire platform as is to anyone who thinks they can do a better job than us.
@urbanarson@liujackc The tweets were not an attack on Jack Liu, but looking at numbers Jack Liu hasn't shown to know anything more than us about building a business. We have achieved more in terms of results and are still cancelling. Those reading should know this.
Nobody went bankrupt by the way.
These are numbers created by delivering pure utility. We didn't attend CambrianSV, Coingeek conferences, other meetups. None of that would have helped us do better in terms of users, as other apps who did show.

Your approach boils down to: spend a lot on ideas that haven't been validated because that way you will succeed. This is a tested approach, it leads to bankruptcy. Instead we (and others) recommend to first look for validation, and only build if data backs your projections.
7. Is this enough to make @FivebucksC viable? Don’t know, maybe it’s too early but at least you stand to grow if Bitcoin grows.
In its current conception, Bitcoin could be the world’s currency and it would still fail.
Few thinkers in BSV realize that Fivebucks is a project management site. In PM you've work packages, "five bucks" is a good name bc it attracts buyers, incentivizes spending, & refers to the smallest work package you can buy/sell on site. We targeted doers, not thinkers.
4. Change the name. Usually this would be something I do later or not at all but 5 bucks speaks to the lack of a vision. It’s not neutral, it’s backwards. Bucks are going away to hyperinflation. 5 bucks will be meaningless. Copying Fiverr in name limits customer’s mindset.
We decided to keep it simple. Fivebucks =! Fiverr knock off but a Fiverr alternative that gives more to sellers & buyers. In a world where money doesn't grow on trees, this provides a strong use case & business case. Didn't work out on BSV because there is no user population.
2. Get funky with payment structures.
You can’t win with https://t.co/kSDOMn6Izy knockoff but just using BSV as the currency. You can pretend it saves credit card processing fees, but honestly nobody cares.
What do I mean by get funky?
Escrow, Crowdfund, Revenue share.
We'll answer your observations, for fun. Fivebucks implemented Handcash early on together with Moneybutton. They were the only payment processors available last year. Handcash was neglected bc we received practically 0 sales from Handcash users. Again, it was a business decision.
1. Site is still using @handcashapp abandoned Cashport for logins and payments. Delete that obviously.
Add in RelayX and Moneybutton and have all user profiles be Paymail.
Won’t increase current Fivebucks traction much but at least sets a correct base for future growth.
