An Army Forward Operating Base (FOB) is located in Kiffin, less than 5km from Naridon. Yet Naridon was under attack by Fulani terrorists for more than three hours before the military deemed it necessary to respond.

By morning, 30 butchered bodies lay scattered across the farming community of Naridon. Many of them were children; innocent children who went to bed hoping to wake up the next day, only to be murdered in the most barbaric manner by terrorists.

What about the allegations that terrorists arrested in the same area last year were taken to Abuja, only to be released and later returned to participate in the June 16, 2026 attack?

As I said on News Central TV a few hours ago, both the state and federal governments lack the political will to stop these attacks. Otherwise, how do you explain the fact that village after village is attacked, innocent people are murdered without provocation, yet no one is held accountable or loses their job?

Southern Kaduna is clearly slipping back into the dark days of mass casualty attacks. This is in addition to the wave of mass kidnappings across the region, with several communities increasingly falling under the control of armed Fulani terrorists.

You may choose to play politics with these atrocities, but trust me, tragedy has a way of coming full circle. On July 1, two of my distant cousins were confirmed killed in captivity in Kutaho. Tomorrow, it could be me, or it could be anyone connected to me, or to you.

One thing I decided in 2012, and will continue to do for as long as I live, is to speak out for these communities whose voices are too faint to be heard.

The lawless DSS arrested BOSYA President, Samaila Ibrahim Kaigama, yesterday in Abuja. We immediately sent a lawyer from Deji Adeyanju's law firm to see him in detention today.

After waiting over an hour, the lawyer was denied access to both the detainee and the DSS premises, forcing him to leave without seeing his client.

Kaigama recently made serious allegations on Channels Television regarding alleged ransom payments to Boko Haram terrorists. His arrest appears intended to silence him. It will not happen.

Nigeria is fast becoming a complete banana republic, where security agencies operate with utter disregard for the rule of law and the rights of citizens.

Preliminary research presented at the American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiovascular Sciences Scientific Sessions 2026 highlights a concerning link between gum disease and calcific aortic valve stenosis (CAVS), a condition that narrows the heart's aortic valve and impairs blood flow.

Scientists found that Porphyromonas gingivalis, a bacterium commonly associated with periodontal inflammation, appears far more frequently in diseased human heart valves. Through analysis of human tissue samples and experiments in mouse models, the team showed that this oral microbe provokes a specific inflammatory response that promotes calcium buildup in critical cardiac structures.

With no current medications available to slow or reverse CAVS progression, often requiring surgical valve replacement, this finding points to potential new preventive strategies. In animal studies, interrupting the inflammatory pathway triggered by the bacterium or using targeted antibiotics substantially reduced calcification. While human clinical trials are underway, researchers stress that proactive oral hygiene and timely treatment of gum disease may offer an important, underappreciated defense against serious heart problems.

When I was in Kuje Prison, I met Haruna Garba Gololo, who was sent there by Senate President Godswill Akpabio. He had been granted bail for nearly three weeks but was still unable to meet the bail conditions.

He’s spent several weeks in prison before being granted bail.

I also met David Nwokorie, who was arrested and detained by the Nigeria Police Force following a messy breakup with Genevieve Opara, the daughter of retired Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Hilary Opara. Last week, when Justice Rita Ajumogobia of the Federal High Court granted David bail after he had spent close to four months in prison, he was required to present a Level 16 officer and a colonel in the Nigerian Army as sureties. these are almost impossible bail conditions.

Even the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who is complaining of wrongful imprisonment of 93% of current inmates dragged a critic, Emorioloye Owolemi, before the Federal High Court sitting in Akure, Ondo State, over alleged cyberstalking, and the man languished in prison for months.

I was sent to prison by Tinubu.

There are 817 awaiting-trial inmates in Kuje out of a total prison population of 1,115, with 47 of them diagnosed with tuberculosis.

Periwinkles have lived in the mangrove swamps and brackish waters of the Lagos Lagoon around Iganmu for as long as anyone can remember.

They are bottom-dwelling snails that cling to mangrove roots and muddy banks.

The estuary keeps feeding them with fresh sediment and nutrients, so the area near the newly revitalized Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts remains their natural home.

If you plan to harvest periwinkles or fish from the Iganmu-Orile shoreline, note this.

Research on edible fish and periwinkles in the Lagos Lagoon shows that mollusks in this urban water can pick up heavy metals.

That has raised public health concerns about eating them straight from the inner city.

- He won the 2022 World Cup for a country with no football history

Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani died this morning at 74.

Here's how bought the world:

In June 1995, he waited for his father to leave the country, then took the throne. The coup was bloodless. His father spent nearly a decade in exile.

Qatar is about one third the size of Belgium, and its population was barely two million, most of them foreign workers.

But it was sitting on one of the LARGEST natural gas reserves on Earth.

He bet everything on liquefied natural gas. Qatar became the world's biggest LNG exporter and one of the richest countries alive per person.

Then he hit the problem every commodity business hits:

Gas is gas, anyone with a tanker can sell it, and a tiny country with no army and that much money is a snack for its neighbours.

So he bought two things nobody else in the Gulf thought to buy...

The first was the world's attention.

In 1996 he issued a decree and Al Jazeera was born. Within a few years it was the most influential news network in the Arab world.

He owned the loudest microphone in the region and never had to speak into it himself.

The second was the American military.

In 1996, Qatar spent over a billion dollars building an air base at Al Udeid, outside Doha. It got the longest runway in the Gulf and shelters for nearly a hundred aircraft.

Qatar's air force only had about a dozen fighter jets.

In 1999 he reportedly told US officials he wanted 10,000 American servicemen stationed there permanently.

Then 9/11 happened, and they came.

The genius part:

Al Udeid is now the forward headquarters of US Central Command and the largest American base in the Middle East, with roughly 10,000 troops.

Qatar charges no rent.

He built the asset before the customer existed, handed it over free, and bought the one thing cash cannot: The US military parked permanently between his gas and everyone who wanted it.

The network broadcasting bin Laden and the runway flying America's war sat in the same tiny country, paid for by the same man.

Then he went shopping...

He set up the Qatar Investment Authority in 2005:

- Harrods
- The Shard
- Canary Wharf, London's largest property owner, bought with Brookfield for 2.6 billion pounds
- 17% of Volkswagen
- Paris Saint-Germain

All his.

In 2017 the Telegraph ran the headline "Qataris own more of London than the Queen."

Then 2008 arrived. Barclays needed billions or the British government was going to own it. Qatar wrote the cheque and its stake climbed to 12.7%. Barclays was later charged over how it disclosed that Qatari money.

In 2010, FIFA handed the 2022 World Cup to a desert country with NO football history. Corruption allegations shadowed the bid for over a decade, and the treatment of the migrant workers who built it drew brutal criticism.

Yet he walked into the opening match in 2022 and the stadium gave him a standing ovation.

Every other Gulf state was selling the same molecule at the same price. Hamad spent his money on a newsroom, a runway, a football club and half of London.

A country of two million now brokers hostage deals and hosts American presidents.

He built all of it in 18 years, and he took the throne from his own father to start.

Truly an unmatched legacy.

How many of our women have they raped?

How many people have they left in poverty?

And if you claim they are going to start a war, what exactly are your brothers Fulani-ter rorist doing right now?

Even your own father is Ibn-Salul, you knows the damage this division is causing the community.

Why keep beating the saddle when you have left the donkey behind?

No matter how you look at it, the wrongs committed by Hausa Zalla don’t come close to what the Fulani did when they first tried to separate themselves from the Hausas.

Their offenses don’t match the oppression the Fulani started against us.

Every bad word you hear from Hausa Zalla has its equal coming from the Fulani side.

This kind of selective outrage will never bring us unity or real understanding. What you’ve done to Bichi Maisango won’t stop the growing divide between Hausas and Fulanis.

If you kill him, then hand over the whole world to Turji. You useless, hypocritical cowards.

The Tragic Day 37 Years Ago When the Uganda State Army Baked Its Own People Alive
On 11 July 1989, at Okungulo Railway Station in Mukura, Kumi District, eastern Uganda, a horrific atrocity was committed against local civilians.
The victims were farmers, teachers, sons and fathers from the surrounding Teso villages, rounded up by the National Resistance Army’s (NRA) 106th Battalion on suspicion of being rebel collaborators. More than a hundred of these local men were driven into a single, unventilated steel goods wagon and locked inside.
The afternoon heat at Okungulo Railway Station was already suffocating when the heavy iron door was slammed shut and the bolts slid into place, sealing them inside the metal box.
Within minutes, the air vanished. Inside, it became a pitch-black furnace. Men stripped off their clothes, drenched in their own sweat and the sweat of those pressed tightly against them. They began to gasp, their chests heaving in vain for oxygen.
Desperate, they hammered their fists against the corrugated steel walls, screaming for water, for air, for mercy.
Outside, the response to their cries was a strike of a match. Soldiers gathered brushwood and lit a fire directly beneath the wagon.
The steel floor turned into a scorching hot pan, and the wagon became an oven. The rising heat and smoke consumed the last remaining pockets of oxygen. Inside the belly of the iron beast, the frantic thumping slowly faded, replaced by the sound of men choking and collapsing onto one another.
When the doors were finally opened hours later, the silence was absolute. Sixty-nine bodies lay contorted in the dark, piled in a desperate, final scramble towards the cracks in the door.
A concrete monument was eventually built to mark the mass grave of those who perished that day. Yet the nation has never truly come to terms with the horror of what happened.
Because this dark chapter remained unaddressed in the national conscience for so long, their restless ghosts continue to haunt the country’s memory.
