@vintagestuff4 I've read that the older ones were apparently considered to be better quality/more comfortable. I've got a second hand one, don't know its age. You can usually find these on Marketplace, etc
@fakehistoryhunt This shows the limitations of AI/image searches. To me this looks from the '60s or '70s based on her eyebrows and eye makeup. She looks vaguely familiar but I can't put my finger on it.

A sub-Antarctic sunrise a century ago. I have cleaned-up this beautiful paget plate which was photographed in South Georgia by Frank Hurley - official photographer on board Shackleton's ill-fated ship 'Endurance'.
Paget Plates were an early colour glass-plate process and this is not colourised.
