Inaugural Robotic Pancreas and Liver Surgery Course for IRCAD North America will take place on April21-24.
This will be an excellent course for all surgical oncologists, liver Transplant surgeons and Hepatopancreatobiliary surgeons.
Course is directed by Prof John Martinie in NC
Cholangiocarcinoma on chip! Dr. Michela Polidoro (@MichelaPolid) from @HumanitasMilano shared her fascinating research on developing a microfluid model that mimics the in-vivo-like CCA microenvironment #AMMF2024#LiverTwitter
@Fla_doc discusses combining blood inflammatory scores predicts survival and reflects the tumor niche in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma at #LiverCancerSummit 2024!
- The combination of blood inflammatory indexes resulted in the identification of two survival-risk profiles
- Adding CA19.9 identified a high-risk subgroup with an increased risk of recurrence
- A subgroup analysis on tumour microenvironment reflects the systemic results.
Future perspectives:
- A validation cohort is needed to confirm the results
- Tumour microenvironment dynamics need to be better investigated (e.g. characterising T cell phenotype: activation/exhaustion)
- These results and dynamics could help in the selection of patients who may benefit from dedicated follow-up and/or immunochemotherapy protocols.
