It’s crazy how dense Backrooms felt. They were constantly showing off the coolest shit ever for the entire runtime. I feel retroactively ripped off by some other horror movies now
nuance is actually so fucking dead. creature actors get moulded onto by artists. the only thing that matters is that their body fits the NON HUMAN CREATURE they’re acting. do you know how hard it is to find abnormally sized people who can also contort and act.
Aw shucks, if only there were blatant themes of mental health, visual representations of your own ego devouring yourself, several therapy scenes that delve deeper into Clark’s character, allegories for dissociating/the effects of neglect through Mary’s character…oh wait.
YouTuber Kane Parsons' movie Backrooms has become A24's highest-grossing movie ever
It has reached a domestic total of $97.7 million, surpassing Marty Supreme, which previously held the title with $96 million
I love Monster Clark as a concept because I think Clark's internal struggles and refusal to change is why his backrooms copy is the way it is, it's the worst of him that he wants to leave behind but can't
