@MichaelRosenYes The govt have been giving below inflation pay 'rises' to pretty much every public sector job since 2010. With the CoLC it's really made things tight. As a teacher I cannot take another real terms cut after the last 12 years.
@avroenergy Hello. I currently have nearly Β£400 of credit on my account through over payments. I have asked for this to be refunded, initially nearly two months ago. I cannot reach a representative on your phone lines and you do not respond to emails. Please advise.
..to the increase in public sector pay bands by law and, as I have said, that should be all of your income. That's the only way I could swallow this proposals. Don't ever clap and applaud us again.
@RishiSunak talk of public sector pay freeze? After ten years of austerity? Woke up to this news and I am beyond furious. I think you need to make some sweeping reform of MP pay for me not to livid at the mere suggestion that this is fair. Here's what a propose: 1/4
...average public sector pay is increasing beyond the measly pay increases we have endured for 10 years. In other words: if you stick in the public sector long enough, expected your pay to go down in in real terms under a Tory government. Your pay should be capped and tied.. 3/4
Good work everyone! We worked very hard for this. We lost so many beautiful people and we must celebrate for them and move forward henceforth in a good way.
@LanceForman@RishiSunak My pay (and my wife's) has been reduced by 20% in real terms due to austerity you moron. We're going out to work and still paying masses for child care (which is more than 20% of our take home pay). I'm happy to do my part and like my job security but grow a brain. Seriously.
@dr_emmacoombe@NEUnion And I'm a huge advocate for blended and flipped learning. I'd be happy to do more of this. Not every teacher is trained and equipped to do this, though, and neither are a significant minority of families.
@dr_emmacoombe@NEUnion Well we won't resolve the argument as I suspect there's a strong link between schools being fully open and infection rates. Thorough hygiene and social distancing is virtually impossible in most school situations and general contact between households increases exponentially.
@dr_emmacoombe@NEUnion You mean 'should' be at home. We've had parents turn up with children with clearly covid-like symptoms. I'm not the neu but I see the problem with masks when a proportion of children have hearing difficulties.
