One symptom of depression that many people overlook is withdrawing from others.

The person who used to call, text, show up, and be present suddenly becomes distant. They stop making plans, stop checking in, and spend more time alone.

It’s easy to assume they don’t care anymore. Sometimes the truth is they’re struggling with a battle they don’t know how to explain.

Not everyone who pulls away wants to be left alone.
