@jonathanstea My aunt told my parents if they loved me they would buy me essiac tea and shark cartilage pills when I had cancer. She also kept insisting that I should read "Conversations with God." I finally had to cut her out of my life because I couldn't manage the add'l stress of her BS.
@jonathanstea I actually appreciate the transparency of an ad hominem attack. It saves time that might otherwise be wasted thinking about anything else the person might be saying.
@wideninggyre_@RichardDawkins@Ayaan She could have kept her own thoughts private if she didn't want them challenged. If a public figure expresses a controversial idea, it's going to be discussed, and I think that's not only healthy but necessary.
@wideninggyre_@RichardDawkins@Ayaan He has a different perspective, and he's shared it. Both she and us can decide what we think. I'm still not sure what the problem is.
@EygesJeffrey @jonathanstea The thoughts you've shared here are ones that I've been pondering for many years. The world is full of baffling phenomena and we may lack the ability to understand it. The problem is when we create a belief system around something science can't verify.
