(1) I'm thrilled to share our publication (and first of my PhD) in the Irish Journal of Psychological Medicine, co-authored with Teresa O'Dowd, @BobbySmyth4 and @MarycannonMary - Risk and Protective Factors for Cannabis Use in Adolescence: A Population-Based Survey in Schools ↓
(1) I’m delighted to share my new paper in the Irish Journal of Psychological Medicine @IrishJPsych
In a population-based school survey, we found that polysubstance use (including cannabis, alcohol & nicotine) was strongly associated with poorer mental health
(4) Together, these papers make the same point: we need to stop treating alcohol, vaping/nicotine and cannabis as separate adolescent health issues when, for many young people, these behaviours overlap.

Delighted to receive the oral poster presentation prize at the 10th Mediterranean Maudsley Forum for my paper (under review) on adolescent polysubstance use & psychopathology, using national #PlanetYouth data.
Highlighting the links between early polysubstance use and mental health concerns. Grateful for the recognition — and for the Maudsley Prescribing Guidelines as a very fitting prize
Funded PhD opportunity with @sjblakemore and I, at Cambridge. We are looking for someone interested in developmental science, to start in the coming academic year. Please share it with anyone you think might be interested (see details attached 😁).

Myself and @ElidaCena are hoping to organise a workshop on use of open-source equivalents to Nvivo software for qualitative analysis. Do I know anyone who might like to facilitate and would like a trip to Belfast? Recommendations also very welcome!
“When we work through the small hours of the night, despite our biology telling us we ought to be asleep, it takes a toll on our body. It increases our risk of obesity. It’s associated with higher rates of cancer.”
