Seems like the #Fed chose to kick the can of hyperinflation down the road. Either JPOW is woefully incompetent or complicit in completely destroying the value of the $USD. Either way, this is both infuriating and saddening.
Anyone who works in logistics operations knows how bad of a test this really was.
You don't get 24 hours to move packages. Everything is on a deadline. Trucks will arrive at 8AM and you have to have the thousands of packages unloaded from the arriving truck, sorted (usually multiple times), and loaded into the correct trucks in under an hour for the next day air deliveries to get out on time.
Every package isn't a light little bag. You get heavy packages, open packages, hazmats/leakers, packages where the weight shifts, long packages, envelopes, packages that roll. You have to be able to account for and adapt to all of those without affecting productivity.
Also, what the robot is doing isn't even a job in most warehouses. It isn't sorting, it's just pushing packages along and flipping them label down. Try having the packages come in on a conveyor, then giving it 4-5 additional belts/chutes to sort to.
You also need to compare against a human worker that does this every day. This kid was moving slow compared to the average warehouse sorter. Again, the task isn't representative of the actual work, but I've had shifts where my expected PPH as a sorter was around 2000, slightly faster than a package every 2 seconds, and that was actually sorting...not whatever this is.
Congrats to Aime!! He said his left forearm is basically broken ๐
Final scores:
โ F.03: 12,732 packages (2.83 seconds/package)
โ Aime: 12,924 packages (2.79 seconds/package)
This is the last time a human will ever win
That PPH is atrocious. It isn't even sorting, just flipping packages face down and pushing them onto a conveyor belt (and it doesn't even do that part right all the time). All the packages are tiny...what happens when a 50lb+ or 5' long package comes down the belt? You also don't need ol' Frank here running 24 hours a day...the sorts in my hub are done in 3-5 hours outside of peak season. The rest of the time he's just gonna sit there afk?
@EricLDaugh@clantro417@WONDERTIME5 Is it really? His best friend is the VP of the US. He got all of the free media coverage. And his opponent only spent like $120K on his campaign. It's crazy that he didn't get 90%+ of the vote. A LARGE number of Ohio Republicans DO NOT like him.
Bullshit. Most of the data centers in Ohio employ less than 50 people. Meanwhile, my electric bill has tripled, my water bill is up 50%, land prices within an hour of Columbus (i.e. where jobs are) went from $10-20K per acre to $50K+, and these data centers are getting tax breaks for the next 15-30 years.
@ReesePolitics A death spiral convertible is a convertible with a conversion price below market price. $GME's convertibles are all higher than current market price.
