@nzasap3 Diversity, in its own right, is an aesthetic value. Focusing on indigenous species sustains the variability of trees and associated organisms within a given zone, thereby strengthening ecological balance and resilience.
Stephen’s biggest challenge is weeds that compete with young trees & long dry spells that affect trees. Termites also eat tree seedlings, esp. Maesopsis eminii; but he acknowledges that they are also important in breakdown of organic matter for his garden.
