@aniobrien@HunterBiden Imagine a right wing politician had a Nazi tattoo. Something tells me they would not be reacting the same. They would rightly call him unfit for office.
@lascapigliata8 Seen some admit they got in wrong but not explained what led them to believe an adult male over two working class clearly scared very young girls.
@Gurdur@unherd@Docstockk They shouldn't delete articles where they get things wrong but write something at the beginning explaining why the article is wrong.
If you want to see the list of MPs (131) who have signed against the EHRC guidance on single sex service provision - terrible as it is - the traitors to women are here 👉🏻 https://t.co/G4aF9fUsBa
@joemac5367 I have seen a few people admit they got it wrong but no reflection why they automatically believed the adult male vs two teenage working class white girls. The reason these girls were not believed is the same reason the grooming gangs were allowed to continue for decades.
@alexrubner You'd think maybe they would have learned after the grooming gangs to not automatically believe it's the white working class girls who are in the wrong. Maybe it's the grown man following them around.
@lnmackenzie1@Geri_E_L_Scott Not sure if clerks played a part? Chair announced it, TRA members all agreed with one voice, natch. On 1st day my team opened an account, these are some of the least toxic posts I read - one was a photo of a murdered colleague with my name on...But, I'm an evil terf MP so...🤷🏼♀️
Over two days, Callum Peacock beat his girlfriend with a golf club, threw dumbbells, bleach and paint at her, choked her, set the bathroom door on fire to get to her, and hit her with a hammer. He also threatened her in front of arresting officers.
18 month suspended sentence.
The focus today is on defence funding. It's clearly mental the PM won't cut welfare to fund our military.
But don't miss what Carns says about Northern Ireland.
The Government's Troubles Bill will see veterans dragged through the courts. If they had any shame, they'd scrap it.
Highly significant that Carns is not just angry about defence spending but makes clear he cannot defend the bill which puts veterans in the dock for their actions in Northern Ireland. The fundamental contract between those in uniform and the govt is broken
