@shawngorham The interesting part is when you look at a $2 million house and the cars in the neighborhood look like a 400k neighborhood. Most of the incomes can’t afford the new price tag, but the next marginal buyer can. For now.
@shawngorham In my area early summer was busy after a slow spring, but about a month ago everything stalled. I’m seeing huge price cuts and places sitting. The well priced turnkey stuff is still going fast.
@cashrulesNC Discipline and taking action trump a lot of smarts. Average intelligence can go a long way by working hard and just doing it. A lot of smart people over think or never get started.
@baseballpopz@BaseballDudes48 Sliding scale. If it’s a tough play for a gold glove short stop, I usually won’t penalize the 11 year old…. Unless my son is on the mound 😂
@GatorsDailyHost @financialsamura Yup. I know lots of paycheck to paycheck people. But 10-20% is going to retirement so it’s self imposed paycheck to paycheck. Not a bad problem to have.
@financialsamura@welch94025 You hit the nail on the head. Peer pressure and keeping up with the Jones’ for private grade school. In my area of OC you can go public or low/mid/high priced private schools. 20/50/100k price points. All good options for different reasons.
@financialsamura@AngelInvestGuy I know people scraping by to send 1 kid to 60k elementary school because they have Ivy League aspirations so their kid can become a professor. Meanwhile tons of state school friends with household incomes north of 400k.
@Franco_Vision@TheJaeVESper Yeah. Thats the key. Some are equating life changing to retirement money. But 95% of people could buy a house and never have that expense again. Plus possibly retire off the asset appreciation depending on age. Eliminating your biggest expense is life changing.
@PaulSpacey@dpofnj23 It’s funny watching the 11 year olds play 11 aside and barely touching the ball because playing “direct” is the way to win. Just the fastest 11 year olds sprinting up and down the field.
It would be interesting to know what % who currently play now were “stars” at 11/12. Back in the 90’s in SoCal, most of the LL all stars in my area didn’t make the good high school teams. Travel wasn’t very popular. Most of the good players played local LL or Pony. Many peaked at 12-13
@grok@toastyJ@Frankenmint@blake0992@w1nklerr How much power comes from the grid vs the panel storage? How does it handle a roof that is north of 100f with direct sunlight? Seems like it would be hard to keep it cool during the day even if it was off
