Knitting to relax, part of Long Covid Occupational Therapy. Also making lovely people hugs they can wear π€. Gauge is my downfall, but I keep trying!π§Άπ
@Victoria_Knits This is so good to hear! I am knitting a Beloved bonnet using German Short Rows and much prefer it to recent sock heels i have done using wrap and turn instructions. I didn't know I could swap methods, what an eye-opener, thank you! ππ
#knittingtwitter advice for novice please?
I have some lovely linen yarn, thinking of making this (Radiate by Joji Locatelli.
But is linen suitable? Too inelastic for colourwork / slipped stitches or whatever this is??
@HeidiBrave Thank you, very good advice. I will look for pattern written for linen. I find it hard to match patterns and yarn, or to know exactly what I want!
Hey #knittingTwitter
V pleased with this fun knit, via @MidwinterYarns π My first adult jumper!
Any advice on a slightly bulgy yoke? I feel maybe the depth to armpit is a little long? Or too many stitches? But fit is comfy. I am not going to undo anything, but want to learn.
@iamlucypiglet The rest of it looks amazing! It is so helpful to see how knitters tinker with their knits, has given me confidence to start making adjustments myself.
@VischLa It is gorgeous. I am starting to plan a ripply / chevron baby blanket - and this is a very good caution to me not to choose a complex pattern.
@BeesInTheBonnet Older patterns can be very sparse on instructions? I like a bit of redundancy and explanation of what is happening. If something that looks odd at first is about to happen, it is reassuring to be told why / have a way to double check you got it right.
@EverydayKnitter Intriguing, thank you! Wouldn't have thought of the marker problem but that is rather crucial. Will have to play around with both options.
