Very proud to start and end my legislative work in Tallahassee on meaningful environmental legislation. We opened in 2018 with HB 325 - Coastal Management, that changed the way we protect our coastlines. There has been more than $550M invested in beach projects since then. Yesterday @GovRonDeSantis signed HB 1417 - FL Dept of Environmental Protection, creating new opportunities for public-private partnerships (P3s) to strengthen Florida's coastal resiliency and protect critical infrastructure from flooding and increasingly severe weather impacts. Great to be in Bradenton this morning to sign legislation that will preserve Florida’s coastlines and support coastal resiliency.

✔️ SB 302 protects Terra Ceia Aquatic Preserve from being developed into a cruise ship terminal along the Sunshine Skyway in Manatee County.
✔️ SB 302 will build on the results we’ve already seen from our investments in coastal resiliency and help restore wetlands, oyster reefs, and mangroves.
✔️ HB 1417 streamlines environmental rulemaking to protect our natural resources and keep our economy thriving.

Florida is blessed with a beautiful coastline and natural environment, and my administration is committed to protecting the God-given treasures of our state.
