A Minneapolis jury came back in less than an hour with the decision, awarding the class of 34 plaintiffs $500,000 each in punitive damages for violating their civil rights.

The Engines & Systems: The diesel engine was still running in neutral. The GPS, radio, and navigation computers were fully functional and active.

The Sails: The boat's sails were up, though the headsail was found badly shredded.

Safety Equipment: All three life jackets, the emergency beacon (EPIRB), and the life raft were completely untouched and remained on board.

Deck Conditions: The men's clothing and towels were found in neat piles on the rear deck, and the boat's fenders were out.
