@coryasc@AJManaseer This is true of other transit as well.
New York’s subway is crammed, they need more capacity.
But bike lanes in most places are just empty.
@coryasc@AJManaseer Every time they built a road, it was immediately crammed with cars. Build another road and it’s crammed.
But frequently a bike lane is built and no one uses it. It’s kinda hard to argue there’s some hidden demand if you “just build more.”
@lolwutnopewtf@EamonJavers Russia does this too, repeatedly honeypotting some dingdong nobodies and getting surprised when the only “intelligence” they have is how many staplers the Army buys
There’s only two countries with somewhat competent intelligence agencies, and neither are on the Eurasian landmass
@KlausKleber1983@KeyboardChuck@follard They drill hundreds of holes in your roof.
100% of them leak, but you rarely notice because the leaks are small at first and evaporate in your attic before it reaches the ceiling.
But 100% leak. It’s just a question of how much.
@arctotherium42 Imagine 25 years of unbroken economic growth
Every year better than the last, over and over and over for a quarter century straight
You would feel like riding a high that’s never gonna end
Compare that to modern “stagnant but by some metrics wealthier than we used to be”
@BradWilcoxIFS Yes because you don’t count divorced people, you hack
If you took the “happiest half” of unmarried people, you’d find they’re doing great too!
@aldabi02433480@aeonvex@JamesNotJamie1 Studies on shock factor say otherwise
People are appalled at first, and then quickly get used to it
Coroners will chop up dead bodies next to the sandwich they’re eating, just another day at the office
All it does is expose children to gore, just visual pollution for nothing
