@robinlundberg If they don't want to call it a big deal, fine.
The thing that never sits well is the double standard because I'd bet you $400 that if this was anyone on the Fever, they would be suspended indefinitely right now
@alexaphilippou The WNBA's own twitter handle thinks it's a flex showing these two gambling
Deletes it, tells everyone it's light hearted and reminds everyone not to gamble as it's against league policy
Say that outloud to yourself. It's crazy lol. This league can't be taken seriously at all
Wouldn’t it be great if these ladies competed at the highest level and then just showed love, appreciation, and respect for each other after games
The WNBA should be showing young girls how to uplift one another & not black vs white & drama. I wish the headlines were different
@apieceofjaaay These players are chronically online and arent shy to sound off on twitter/threads
So it's probably easier to just wait for them to confirm/deny, make excuses, etc
I’m a fan of Caitlin.
I’m also gay.
The idea that she’s some threat to queer women is nonsense.
It’s disingenuous, performative, and just desperate for attention.
If you need to invent danger where none exists, maybe look at the actual systems harming queer women instead of projecting it onto a basketball player who’s done nothing to deserve it.
Violence, discrimination, harassment, legislative attacks
Those are real dangers.
Those ruin lives.
Caitlin Clark has done none of that
If you genuinely think Caitlin Clark is the danger gay and queer women need to worry about, you’re not defending queer people, you are being unintelligent, ignorant and insincere.
You’re ignoring real queer women dangers so you can perform outrage at a woman who’s guilty of nothing except playing basketball.
It’s unserious. It’s embarrassing. And it’s exactly the kind of lazy, performative activism that does nothing to actually make meaningful change.
Grow up!
@Shane00 I'd much rather LeBron, for this last 2 years in the league, continue to battle for championships
Rather than him signing with some team that has no chance so he can go on a retirement tour of meaningless games
People will criticize him for virtually anything
@ItsMeghanLHall Nobody cared enough to change it that's why.
For the rest of us used to actually watching other leagues, the WNBA officiating is HORRIBLE
Current players, coaches, fans... it's the one thing we are all unified on. So yes, it does sound funny...
@ClutchPoints@VinceAndTmac LBJ about to find out at 42 how it was like to be MJ for once and just focus on what you're good at while your team does the rest
