I thought for some reason I had to reinvent the wheel when it came to teaching pronunciation. Today I did some practice with a student. Started small with one word, repeated, and then joined the words. All it took was 10 minutes of prep, and he loved it. Some chuckles too! 😀

@SimpliTeach Definitely. I taught ESL to Czechs for years and noticed that those who lived under a different regime could be tougher to communicate with, not just in terms of language skills, but because they were less outgoing / more reserved than those who didn't grow up in the same times.

@ValentinaESL @AnnaTeachesELLs I've always loved using videos to get students talking and writing - nothing too long, but a video deep and interesting enough to get a good reaction from a student. Then I design materials for an imaginary "social media post" or "review" based on the video content / topic.
