Join us in congratulating Zach Thomas from our IT team on being nominated for Horry County’s Employee of the Quarter! 👏
Zach consistently goes above and beyond, always willing to lend a hand—even outside the scope of IT. He’s a true team player who supports the entire airport community.
This quarter, Zach stepped up during a fire incident in Baggage Claim, jumping in to assist both Airport and City fire crews with cleanup and recovery efforts. His initiative earned praise across multiple departments. He’s also a dependable early-morning problem solver for our tenants, ensuring operations start smoothly each day, and he never hesitates to take on extra responsibilities during staffing shortages.
Thank you, Zach, for your dedication and teamwork!
This National Volunteer Week, we’re celebrating the incredible volunteers of MYR who help keep our airport running smoothly and welcoming every day. ✈️
From offering directions to greeting travelers with a smile, to visiting with therapy dogs that help them destress, your dedication makes a lasting impression on every passenger who passes through. Thank you for being the friendly faces that represent the heart of our airport—we couldn’t do it without you!
For the first time, the Myrtle Beach International Airport Fire Rescue Department has earned the Fire Safe South Carolina Community Designation—a prestigious statewide recognition for excellence in fire and life safety.

📊 Data-driven risk reduction
This achievement highlights the dedication of our Fire Rescue team to keeping passengers, employees, and our community safe every day.
Exciting news: MYR’s Terminal Expansion project has been named the 2026 SEC-AAAE Commercial Airport Architecture Project of the Year! We extend our heartfelt thanks to JE Dunn Construction and Southside Constructors for their outstanding work in bringing this project to life.
We celebrated the 2025–2026 Student Art Contest winners with a special unveiling earlier today! The winning pieces will be displayed in the terminal’s ticketing lobby for the next year.
Congratulations to all who placed—we were truly blown away by your talent!
Myrtle Beach International Airport continues to experience normal security checkpoint wait times. As always, we recommend arriving 2 hours before your flight’s scheduled departure time to ensure a smooth security screening and boarding process.
Airport staff will continue to work closely with partners at TSA, and provide any updates as necessary.
Breck Dunne, Director of Development at MYR, recently had the opportunity to represent the Myrtle Beach International Airport at the American Association of Airport Executives Airport Planning, Design & Construction Symposium.
The symposium is considered the preeminent technical event for the aviation industry, bringing together approximately 2,000 representatives from airports, consulting firms, construction companies, airlines, industry suppliers, and government agencies to share the latest developments shaping airport planning, design, and construction.
Great work representing MYR and connecting with industry partners!
