When Gary Neville says "you wouldn't see this in under 9s or under 10s football" - you would though, wouldn't you. In an U9s game I once saw a goalkeeper shout to his teammate, as the game was going on, "JAMES, HAVE YOU FINISHED CHARLOTTE'S WEB YET?"
@David_Challen As well as everything you share, it’s interesting none of them picked this up years ago when it first came out. There was a bbc mini series - 3 girls - that was out in 2017 about what happened in Rochdale. I’m sure Maxine Peak was in it.
The Taliban have forbidden women in Afghanistan from talking to each other.
This is the latest in a series of restrictions since the group seized power three years ago.

On days when I feel I’m wading through mud I remember to thank my lucky stars that I’m not trying to raise my daughter in Afghanistan… #LetHerLearn@savechildrenuk@Inspiringgirlsf
(1/2) So I’ve started a Scottish Arts & Culture podcast, it’s called A Kick Up The Arts, & it comes in 2 parts.
The first is a weekly round-table chat in local arts spaces with fab guests: episode 1 starring @Chitgrrl & @HanLavery @ByLeavesWeLive is here! https://t.co/tnASpzFida
We should be seeking justice for the Palestinians who have been erased in a genocide.
Instead, we are on the brink of a regional war because Israel has been given the green light to commit war crimes with impunity.
What is our government doing to bring about peace?
A law I helped create was the reason Giselle’s husband was caught. It exposed the stomach churning abuse of his wife.
I have received hundreds of messages over the last 48hrs about it.
Here’s how I feel: 🧵
@JudyMurray Local people do want to see a legacy for Andy but not by building a luxury housing devlpmnt with a tennis centre attached. Develop at Stirling Uni or the existing Dunblane tennis club or at the high school? Tennis is an expensive sport - develop funded pathways for raw talent.
@JudyMurray Really? There are so many ways you can leave a legacy for Andy. And still the time to do it. Tennis in schools, in communities with funding to support players that want to take it further. Develop talent and make tennis accessible to all. A controversial building will not do that
@ruth_wishart This was not a NIMBYism. It’s been going on for years, opposed by many local people for several reasons. It’s in the wrong place. It’s a front for luxury housing on green belt land, not accessible easily unless by car, and there are many tennis & golf facilities nearby.
