The first President of the United States, George Washington, attributed the Exodus to Israel as inspiration to take on the British empire and establish a new nation. As Washington wrote on June 14, 1789 to the Hebrew Congregation in Savannah, Georgia:

“May the same wonder-working Deity; who long since delivering the Hebrews from their Egyptian Oppressors planted them in the promised land- whose providential agency has lately been conspicuous in establishing these United States as an independent nation - still continue to water them with the dews of Heaven and to make the inhabitants of every denomination participate in the temporal and spiritual blessings of that people whose God is Jehovah.”

Further, when the Great Seal of the U.S. was being proposed, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson suggested it be an image of Moses parting the Red Sea and leading his people to the Promised Land (Israel):
“Moses standing on the Shore, and extending his Hand over the Sea, thereby causing the same to overwhelm Pharoah who is sitting in an open Chariot, a Crown on his Head and a Sword in his hand. Rays from a Pillar of Fire in the Clouds reaching to Moses, to express that he acts by Command of the Deity.”

A marble portrait of Moses hangs in the U.S. House Chamber in the U.S. Capitol. Streets in Israel are named after Presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. There is a park dedicated to the Liberty Bell in Jerusalem.

What's included in this report is fucking harrowing:

- A baby was abused and had cigarettes stubbed out on it while the mother was forced to watch; the baby was then killed.
- Girls were set on fire.
- Girls were sent to “red rooms” to be tortured, some of them killed, some of it livestreamed.
- One girl was raped by a dog while men bet on whether it would vaginally or anally rape her.
- Girls were forced to have abortions with knitting needles.
- Glass bottles, keys, baseball bats, and other objects were forced inside them, some shattering.
- Girls were gang-raped by dozens of men at a time in “party houses.”
- Girls were whipped, hung upside down, suffocated, and urinated on.
- Girls as young as 5 or 6 were tied up and abused.
- Girls were locked in dog cages.
- Girls were branded with an “M” for Muhammad.
- Girls were threatened with being killed and fed to pigs.
- Girls were mocked for wearing a crucifix during the rapes.

All of this was carried out by predominantly South Asian, Pakistani men, with smaller numbers from Somali, Iranian, Syrian, Turkish, Bangladeshi, and Iraqi men.

And yet perpetrators were let off, authorities turned a blind eye, and it continues to this day because people are scared of being called racist.

Anyone who covered for this needs to face the death penalty alongside all of those who hurt these girls.

I suppose this point is moot for now but I want to mention it anyway because it's likely to rear its head again. Isolationist-oriented people tend to invoke the argument that they don't want to be drafted or their kids to be drafted into a war they don't support. Then they blame Boomers for the possibility.

I find this ironic because I'm a boomer and unlike the overwhelming majority of people alive today, I truly got drafted. I got double screwed because in my very year of eligibility they had taken away the student deferment (college student) and instituted the lottery.

I got a low lottery number -- 56 and so I was drafted. I got lucky, however, because Nixon had started so-called Vietnamization around that time and even draftees weren't being sent to Vietnam. So in one sense my timing was terrible and in another it was great. But it never occurred to me to blame any generation for my being drafted.

I certainly couldn't blame my dad's WWII generation. He was a fighter pilot in the war. So while some of you blame us Boomers, I'm the one that got drafted, not you.

Don't get me wrong; I'm not complaining about it. It was a very good experience for me. I'm not pro-war and I'm not for re-instituting the draft, so quit accusing me and my fellow old-people-who-still-feel-like-young people of plotting that. We're not and It's not going to happen so I think it's a red herring. So if you insist on hating Boomers, please pick a better reason. I'm sure you think you have many.

Stray thought: A lot of the figures who have been the loudest calling Trump an Israeli puppet, or claiming that America is abetting genocide, or calling the Iran conflict the worst disaster in American history, or just generally obsessing with Israel non-stop day in and day out, have had nothing to say -- literally, nothing -- about the imminent peace agreement.
