Attended my last AMEC as a med student 💃🏾. It was so great to see so many people I was in the trenches with in route to being physicians👩🏾⚕️👨🏾⚕️.
I’ll be back of course, again and again! Despite what they are trying to do, your melanated docs are here to stay with more on the way!
Man it really bothers me when people label certain specialty residency programs as “easy.” All it does is invalidate any mental/physical challenges trainees may have, and it’s just flat out wrong.
"[Wegovy/Ozempic/Mounjaro] doesn't work because if you stop it, the weight comes back."
If you stop lisinopril your blood pressure goes up.
If you stop metformin your blood sugar goes up.
If you stop atorvastatin your cholesterol goes up.
Reframe your thinking.

Dear New Doc,
There will be times when you have a gut feeling something is just not right with your patient. Never ignore it. Even if you can’t explain why.
If y’all are working with interns this week please reiterate that they’re doing a good job. These folks are so nervous and scared and feel extremely bad if they don’t get things right away. We know what imposter syndrome is like. Give a little love
