@Mr_Andrew_Fox My initial reaction to this is ‘absolute bollocks’. But the rational part of my brain is also interested in understanding your reasoning for this?
Can only begin to imagine how many front pages and how many of the trash TV talk shows would go to town if any senior Labour politician did this. Two tier press.
Feb ‘25: Trump tells Zelensky, ‘You're not in a good position. You don't have the cards right now.’ June ‘26: Trump says, ‘Russia should make a deal.’ Today, as Putin opens a conference of Asian nations in Kazan, he’s humiliated again by Ukrainian attacks on Moscow.
@StephenJamesGBR As you well know, the British military has a long history of changing names, disbanding units but also regenerating organisations. It’s evolutionary. It’s a shame to see these names changeover but an ethos doesn’t die with a name.
@toniwriter That’s not how Palantir works. They don’t own the systems or the data, they engineer the project and provide technical expertise. The back end is owned by the organisation paying them.
@StephenJamesGBR It’s absolutely right that any member of the Armed Forces are always subject to review, oversight and potential legal ramifications for the actions taken as part of their duties. It’s part of being a civilised democracy.
“I’ll be all over the Farage £5 million donor story as soon as I’ve finished investigating allegations that Starmer owes a mate 22p for a Mars bar he bought him in 1987.”
I know there is a lot of news around but can someone at the Beeb explain to me how a man they keep telling us might be the next PM getting an undisclosed donation of FIVE MILLION POUNDS from a Thai based crypto dealer (with a BS explanation about it being for lifelong security) is not even a news story when the man he wants to replace led the news for days over some glasses and Arsenal tickets?
@almurray@Tonisenior Al, I have only the utmost respect for everything you do, but please please please never use that word again. You’re British. It’s Int. nothing more. Anything else is disgustingly colonial. 🫡
The King did what he had to do in his speech in Congress. But even though the next US president will no doubt work hard to rebuild relationships with NATO, no British, Canadian or European government will forget what Donald Trump has done and said. It can always happen again.
