Construction work should start next month - just waiting on the discharge of the pre-commencement planning conditions.
The new leisure centre should be opening in Spring 2027.

Movement at the (former) Kingfisher - What gives and when?
You'll likely have seen things going on at the site in recent days.
The council's construction partner has made a start on the enabling works, which will include creating a temporary site access point.

The trees are being pruned (in line with planning permission) and the hoarding has been extended to include the playground (the new playground on Fairfield is now open).

@Roadcrest have been helping increasing numbers of residents and are urgently seeking the following basic items: Tinned tomatoes, soup, pasta, pasta sauce, tinned fish, jam, tinned vegetables, tinned fruit and rice

Investigations are ongoing, should know when we can reopen the library in the next day or two.
Will probably be closed until the end of the week in the meantime.

What's going on at Kingston Library?
A part of the building's ceiling has fallen in, so we've had to close it ATM. We're not sure if this was due to Storm Bert at the weekend, nor are we sure if there's something more fundamentally wrong with the ceiling.
