Try to grasp these numbers: There are nearly 15 million undocumented (illegal) aliens living in the United States, which is equivalent to the combined populations of Tennessee, Massachusetts, and Vermont. Or nearly 2 million more people than the entire population of Pennsylvania.
It seems that the Democratic Party of which I was once a part, lives in a perpetual cycle of reaction, endless crises, recurring outrage, and a diminishing capacity for renewal. What once promised reform now feels repetitive, emotional, and unstable; unable to correct its course.
ETERNAL FRIENDSHIPS: The greatest friendships are found on shared experiences, and there is no more incredible experience than that which is shared in Christ Jesus. The most wonderful friends you will ever have will be found in His Church. “I have called you friends.” John 15:15.
The Story of Prince Oliver and the Dragon
Once upon a time, in a towering castle that watched over a mighty river, there lived a brave young prince named Oliver—Oliver August. His mother was a beautiful princess, and his father was a gentle and kind-hearted giant.
The castle was wrapped in magical gardens where flowers and vines climbed to the sky, their roots stretching deep through the heart of the earth.
Prince Oliver’s companion was a fire-breathing dragon named Gimli. By day, Gimli was a playful puppy, gentle and loyal. But when night fell and stars began to twinkle, he would drift into a deep sleep, with wild dreams. In his dreams, he chased wolves and lions and tigers and bears, scaring the giggles out of them
Every Evening around midnight, Gimli would stir. He’d stretch, turning into the dragon, his mighty tail would knock over everything in the room, flying out the window, almost touching the moon. Then, with a roaring sneeze, flames would burst from his nostrils and light up the castle tower like a great lighthouse. The neighbors thought it was lightning.
But Oliver didn’t mind. He would simply sit up in bed, brush the soot off his pillow, and smile.
Because Oliver was not like other princes.
He didn’t grumble or growl or stomp his feet. He didn’t dream of battles or thrones or faraway treasures. He liked quiet things—like the sound of the silver maple tree talking to Gillo, or the way the stars blinked three times just before dawn. He was a prince of questions and quiet wonder, of kindness that didn’t need to shout.
While Gimli’s dreams stormed through the night, Oliver’s thoughts drifted gently through the sky.
Oliver was joyful and playful; he laughed with the cooks in the kitchen and raced the wind through the garden paths. He knew every bird by name and every gardener by their favorite flower. He was curious without being nosy, gentle without being weak.
He loved his family and friends deeply. He listened to his mother’s stories as if each word were a golden thread and sat on his father’s broad shoulder to see the world as the giant saw it—slow, high, and full of wonder.
The people of the kingdom adored him—not because he was princely, but because he was kind. He made time for the smallest things: a weeping flower, a hungry squirrel, a lonely neighbor.
And though he was still only a boy, everyone quietly knew: One day, Oliver would be a wise and tender king. Not the kind that ruled with fear or force, but the Kind that made you feel safe just by being near. The kind that turned even a sneezy dragon into a light of hope.
The End—No, It’s Just the Beginning
I Don’t Know
I don’t know, nor understand,
How God speaks without a sound.
I don’t know what He has planned,
Or why His silence is profound.
I don’t know how prayer takes flight,
Or why the righteous sometimes fall;
I don’t know my left from my right.
I don’t know much at all.
In my belly, my prayers are imprecatory. The blatant, open, licensed perverted sin against God and man has reached a point that we must pray, "…How long, O Lord, holy and true, will you refrain from judging and avenging our blood on those dwelling on the Earth?” Revelation 6:10.
He's still here: When you hear that whisper of a voice, He's still here. When you see the beauty of creation, He's still here. When your soul is quiet, He's still here. when you just know it's Him… ”I (Jesus) am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.” Matthew 38:20.
If your goal isn’t their salvation—run. You can’t play in mud without getting dirty. Sin is contagious; righteousness must be pursued. Holiness doesn’t spread by contact; corruption does. Haggai 2:12-14. “Do not be deceived: Bad company corrupts good morals.” 1 Corinthians 15:33.
Pastors and teachers, if you’re not using AI in your research and preparation—be assured your congregation is. And AI may know your field better than you. Let it serve you, not replace you. “Because the preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge…” Ecclesiastes 12:9.
Forgive my repeatedly beating this drum, but the most remarkable thing man has accomplished in my life is AI. If we’re not collaborating with it, we may be choosing to be ignorant. “The heart of the prudent acquires knowledge…the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.” Proverbs 18:15.
If I’m not learning while teaching, growing while preaching, or listening while ministering—what am I doing? “You, therefore, who teach others, do you not teach yourself? You who preach that a man shall not steal, do you steal?” Romans 2:21. Ministry flows through us—not from us.
Be careful with “Thus saith the Lord,” when the Lord didn’t say—giving prophecies, or blessings that aren’t ours to give. “They have envisioned futility and false divination, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord!’ But the Lord has not sent them…” Ezekiel 13:6.
If we Christians could but grasp the eternal glory of Heaven or fathom the horridness of separation from God in a place called hell, we would plead with lost family and friends to at the very least invite them to church this Lord's Day. “A wise person wins souls.” Proverbs 11:30.
Elon outraged liberals supporting Trump. Now, he ticked off the conservatives being against Trump. He lost it—or he's crazy like a fox. When he endorsed Trump, conservatives bought Teslas. Maybe liberals will buy them again. “Woe to you when all men speak well of you.” Luke 6:26.
