Public Affairs/Campaigns Officer for @StrokeScotland
Focused on getting stroke the priority it needs in Holyrood. Dons fan (2025 Cup Winners) for my sins.
I’m proud to support @TheStrokeAssoc this #StrokePreventionDay and encourage everyone to have their blood pressure regularly checked - so that we can stop stroke before it happens.

Aphasia affects around 40,000 Scots, profoundly impacting their communication and their day to day lives.
A lovely afternoon with the monthly Speakability group at DCA. Thanks to the Stroke Association and all of the brilliant volunteers helping our Aphasia community.
Sorry to end the week on a low note, but @scotgov uplift in funding for stroke - from £16m last year to £17m in 26/27 - announced as part of the Budget this week just isn't good enough. It means stroke services will still fall short and patients will suffer. #MakeStrokeAPriority
Around one third of stroke survivors live with aphasia - and it doesn’t have to be that way.
In the chamber yesterday, I again pressed the SNP to deliver the 24/7 national thrombectomy service promised back in 2023. Early clot removal saves brains, lives, and independence - and saves the NHS £40k per patient.
If your stroke happens at 5:30pm on a Friday, your chances shouldn’t plummet.
It’s time Ministers honoured their commitment.

A week on from #WorldStrokeDay we’re still marvelling at the response to this year’s theme, which was the long road to rehab & recovery. @TheStrokeAssoc community came together to raise awareness of the struggles stroke survivors face. Thanks @NHSForthValley for stunning pics! 😍
Delighted to meet the clinicians and staff working in NHS Fife stroke unit heartened by the work they are doing to focus on stroke and the aftercare of stroke for patients. @StrokeScotland@nhsfife
So important that stroke is brought up in Westminster to mark #WorldStrokeDay. Stroke doesn't pick one day of the year to affect people - it's vital this debate acts as a vehicle to bring lasting change to stroke services across the UK. @TheStrokeAssoc
Thank you @MuniraWilson for hosting the #WorldStrokeDay debate in Westminster today, and for shining a light on the many challenges that so many stroke patients and survivors are expected to navigate alone, once discharged from hospital.
