📣 This week, our History lesson was dedicated to Black History Month. The theme for this year is ‘Reclaiming Narratives’, which focuses on sharing stories of Black history and culture, as well as correcting historical inaccuracies.

🎨 In Art, Class 4 have been studying the work of African artist Jimoh Buraimoh, who is famous for his use of bold colours and shapes to create abstract images of people.

🐯 Class 4 have been learning all about the classification of living things. They began the lesson with some images of objects and living things, and arranged them into groups.

🏃‍♀️ This week, Class 4 started a programme with @RotherhamUnited for six weeks. During the first session, they learned about exercise and how it affects the body!

⭐ Last week in History, Class 4 worked in groups and made a timeline on their desks. They put key dates from the Maya civilisation alongside events that occurred in Britain, in chronological order.

🏖️ The whole school had a fantastic visit to Cleethorpes in the beautiful sunshine! The children enjoyed playing games on the beach, collecting pretty shells, and building sandcastles.

🧭 Year 5 and 6 had a wonderful time on their @wickersleypt Residential 2024! Everyone took part in lots of activities with the @rotherhamgames team, such as kayaking and orienteering.

💪 This week in Science, Year 3 and Year 4 have been looking at skeletal muscles. They now know that muscles are attached to our bones, and they create movement!

🎾 This year, we were able to host the annual Sports Day. The sun was out, and everyone had such a great time! The children were able to work in teams and apply some of the skills practised during PE lessons.
