L. Frank Baum created a place where witches can be a force for good, & where women wield power to promote justice. Glinda the Good Witch, the first of her kind, helped redefine the patriarchal idea of persecuting women with "dangerous" ideas and skills.
In Slavic #mythology, the Rusalki were water nymphs - the #ghosts of girls who died by suicide, drowning themselves because of unreciprocated love. They haunted rivers and lured young men, entwining them in their long hair, pulling them to a watery death.
