Shaykh Sulaiman Amubieya (Hafizahullah) is one of the prominent and respected Islamic scholars among the Yoruba Muslims in Nigeria. I met him for the first time in 2017 when he came to deliver a lecture in my hometown upon the invitation of Odeomu Muslim Youths. This man gave a comprehensive lecture for 3 hours on Tauhid and Aqeedah and was quoting Qur'anic verses and authentic hadiths off hand. I doubt if I have ever seen him holding a book in any of his lecture series.

He is widely known as a teacher of advanced Islamic sciences, with special focus on Al-Qawa'idul Fiqhiyyah (the Legal Maxims of Islamic Jurisprudence), Fiqhul Ibadat, Aqeedah, and Usool. His classes are distinct because he teaches primarily in a blend of Arabic and Yoruba language, which makes complex issues of deen easy for the common Yoruba Muslim to understand and connect with. He places great emphasis on explaining the conditions for the acceptance of worship, particularly Ikhlas (sincerity) and Mutaba'ah (following the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him).

I have watched many of his videos and in all, he is often very straightforward and clear on his stance on Islamic injunctions after thoroughly diluting different opinions on controversial issues. There was a video where he said none of his children who has clocked the age of 12 hasn't fully memorized the Holy Qur'an. Ma shaaa Allah!!!

In terms of Manhaj, Shaykh Amubieya is known to be upon the Manhaj of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama'ah; calling people to Islam upon the Qur'an and Sunnah upon the understanding of the Salafus Salih. His da'wah is centered on correction of Aqeedah, purification of Tawheed from all forms of shirk and bid'ah, and clarification of misconceptions about Islam, especially in a contemporary Nigerian context. This is evident in his recent lectures where he addresses issues like the conflation of Islam with terrorism, and Islamic rulings related to places of prayer and Jumu'ah.

Beyond the classroom, he is a very active da'ee in Southwest Nigeria. He delivers regular morning classes (Duroos Sabaah), Jumu'ah Khutbahs, Ramadan Tafseer, and public lectures that are widely circulated on YouTube, Facebook, and TikTok through platforms like Five Pillars Media and his students' channels. His style of teaching is calm, detailed, and evidence-based, often quoting classical Arabic texts and poetry to drive home points of wisdom and devotion.

I also watched him delivering a khutbah in Egypt in complete and plain Arabic few months ago. That's excellence 👏 ✨️! Shaykh Amubieya is loaded....Ustaz Labeeb Agbaji even confirmed same in a video saying he would even have loved to learn under him.

Over the years, Shaykh Sulaiman Amubieya has become a reference point for many young Yoruba students of Islamic and Arabic knowledge and has contributed significantly to raising a generation of Muslims who are grounded in authentic knowledge and balanced understanding of Islam.

May Allah grant him long life and reward him abundantly for all his efforts towards the Ummah.
