On “malaria and typhoid” scam in Nigeria, pls kindly read this and share to everyone you care about.
First things first;
The vast majority of “malaria and typhoid tests” done in Nigeria (especially that popular ‘MP Widal’ test) is a COMPLETE SCAM and an elaborate fraudulent scheme to defraud you while hospitals make money from your ignorance.
Yeah. I’ve said this many times.
And I will say it again:
Pls STOP doing “malaria and typhoid test” IF you are well and feel healthy. The common “widal test” done for typhoid is a largely useless and nonspecific test.
Also routine malaria testing is a useless exercise in a country like Nigeria where malaria is endemic because almost everybody has the malaria parasite in their system- but not everybody needs any treatment as long as they are well and fine in themselves.
The actual cold brutal truth is that many people suffer from some degree of hypochondriasis (which is a health anxiety condition where you persistently believe strongly that something is ‘wrong’ with your body and that you have an undiagnosed illness EVEN THOUGH you are actually well and fine in yourself).
This makes you keep going to hospitals who then exploit your illness anxiety, make you pay for tests you don’t need and end up giving antimalaria and antibiotics medicines you don’t need to treat an illness that only exists in your imagination. This is why some of you keep “treating malaria and typhoid” every month and it never goes away.
You know why? You never had any malaria or typhoid that needs treating. What you need is to STOP doing unnecessary tests and STOP spending you don’t have to treat a malaria that doesn’t exist. And if this persistent health anxiety is overwhelming for you, pls go see a therapist or a mental health expert to help address the hypochondriasis and persistent health anxiety.
Don’t get me wrong:
I am NOT saying all malaria/typhoid testing is useless. NO. I have not said that.
What I am saying is that if you are well and healthy in yourself, you do NOT need any malaria or typhoid tests.
If you have malaria symptoms like fever, vomiting, diarrhea (especially bloody diarrhea), recent travel outside the country or recent visit to somewhere where you drank unclean water and ate unhygienic food, severe headaches, new bitter taste in your mouth, not being able to eat or drink, abdominal pain and you feel very weak and unwell; then yes, you should get tested and treated. This makes perfect medical sense.
But to go and be getting “malaria typhoid test” randomly and on a routine regular basis like you are going to the salon for a new hairstyle, is an absolute waste of your time, and waste of your money.
Malaria testing is ONLY relevant IF you are not well. As I said before, in Nigeria, millions of people are bitten regularly by mosquitoes and so they will have a positive malaria test result if you routinely and randomly test.
There is NO need to “treat” a person who is well and healthy in themselves. The hospitals won’t tell you this because they need to make money: and many of you won’t still listen because you like to waste your money.
Anyway the bottom line is simple:
IF you are well and feel fine in yourself,
THERE IS NO NEED FOR ANY MALARIA OR TYPHOID TESTS.
It is far better to convert this energy you use chasing unnecessary wasteful malaria tests (when you are well and don’t need it) use that energy instead to regularly check your blood pressure, your blood sugar and your weight at least once every year- because the highest risk factors for kidney failure, heart attack, stroke, unexplained paralysis and sudden death in young people is undetected/untreated high blood pressure, high blood sugar and unmanaged excessive weight. This is a far more important use of your time and money.
Pls kindly read and share this post.
You never know who this information will save their life and save their money.
Thank you.
What Ycee said on that Podcast is what many people say in their friendship groups. He showed courage and was bold enough to say it as it is.
There's an Olodo uprising in Nigeria, and it began with “School na scam”. It has become an enduring phenomenon.
Students come online to post their academic success and they get bashed for it. They're told that they should get on something else because their education won't get them anywhere.
There's no proper role-modelling. A country that gives no credence to its intellectuals and its finest minds can't progress. It's impossible.
So we have Olodo uprising and an exodus of brilliance from within. This isn't about spoken or written English, it's about the quality of conversations and the depth of thinking that's exhibited on social media and offline. There's a dip. It's evident.
I mean, painstaking research works done in universities end up on shelves, dust-ridden, useless yet useful.
Peller, quite unfairly, has become the hallmark of that description of an intellectual rot in Nigeria, but credit to him, an idiot doesn't maintain the level he's at. It takes a sound mind to devise methods to continuously keep people paying for his own advancement. He's only seeking survival and he's earned his bread. I can't fault that.
But there are deeper issues. Education in Nigeria has increasingly become unpopular yet it's the greatest gift the common man can get. That has nothing to do with Peller. He's just a victim of a poor system who managed to turn the corner.
Foolery sells in a society that hisses at education. And education isn't only done within the four walls of a school. The streets don't lie. We see the fingerprints.
“Olodo uprising… we’re trying so much to accommodate the unintelligent people and ignorant people cos we don’t want them to feel bad.. now they’re like the majority.”
YCee really won hearts with this comment.
I've not seen it yet but I can bet my left testicle - someone somewhere is tweeting about Ycee's projected networth and how Peller is 20x richer than Ycee so Ycee is jealous.
I am sure.
A culturally bankrupt society whose source of validation comes from asslicking the wealthy.
No Ideological compass. No guiding principle. No strength. Just "I get money pass you".
A congregation of fools, from whence no progress is in sight.
You know why sane societies thrive out here? Because people don't fucking care what you have.
The concept of human dignity exists. Even the poor will stand tall in the face of the wealthy and battle opinion for opinion.
Phones are merely for calls. Cars are merely for transportation. Not status symbols.
Until the day you decentre ranking people and prioritising their opinions based on the depths of their pockets - you will always be bottom feeders.
If you have gotten Admission in any school WITHOUT funding, here are your options:
1. Go to LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram and search for the name of your school. You will definitely see someone from your country on any of those platforms, send them messages and ask for info.
There are so many internal scholarships and tips that are not advertised. They can give you info. We call it 'OT' on the street of Lagos 😂. These guys will tell you who has funding in the school and where to go.
2. Go to your department's Web page and check for advertised positions. Remember that you may have login details to your profile after Admission, use it to log in to your dashboard and search for scholarships.
3. Some schools even have a centralized platform where they advertise scholarship positions. Your job is to find them.
4. You can take the risk to look for funds and go to your school, then 'hustle' for an assistantship in another department. This method is a 50/50 chance because you may not get it.
You need to have a very strong faith to do this. Some people get scholarships in another department, and this happens more in the USA🇺🇸. I know 2 people who got funding this way.
5. Forget the Admission, get approval from a Professor by cold email before you apply.
Try all of the above.

Lol I see people say this and I laugh. I have pictures of the day INEC came to physically assess one of the parties we tried to register. We met all the requirements but we were denied. You don’t know the evil we’re up against.
Let’s not forget the cash scarcity under APC (naira redesign crisis, 2023)
-Long queues at banks and ATMs for days
-No cash for transport, food, or daily survival
-Businesses shut down temporarily
-Many hospitals struggled with payment delays
-Some patients reportedly delayed treatment because they couldn’t access cash
-Reports of violence and stampede-like situations different states
-Cases of violence and chaos around bank premises
-Reports of injuries and tragic incidents during the rush for cash
-Small businesses nearly collapsed because POS also stopped working properly
It wasn’t just “policy stress” it affected real everyday survival for millions of Nigerians.
Reject APC with everything in you
Rigging is not a political strategy, rigging is rigging.
Rigging, arm robbery, stealing, kidnapping, etc, those are the words in the same category.
Check again your political god is just a petty thief. He is your god cos you are mini micro petty thief waiting his turn.
Everything happening in Nigeria has a far higher incidence rate than what is being reported. This country has no reliable data gathering, reservoir and reportage system for sensitive information.
It’s like Nigerians do not know what this means. The whole nation should be aggrieved right now.
A Senator has just confirmed to you that since Tinubu came to power, he has not implemented any budget.
For context ₦21.8 TRILLION in 2023, ₦28.8 TRILLION in 2024, and ₦49.7 TRILLION in 2025 is MISSING.
This is your blood and sweat Nigerians.
Where is the money?
