I know what it means to grow up in a world that tells LGBTQIA people they need to be fixed just to be accepted. Conversion therapy is not care. It is harm. It is trauma. It is abuse dressed up as treatment.

I stand with the LGBTQIA community today and every day. We deserve safety, dignity, and the freedom to live openly as who we are.

When I’m elected to Congress, I will fight for federal legislation to ban conversion therapy nationwide and protect LGBTQIA youth from this dangerous, discredited practice once and for all.

We don’t need fixing. This country does.

The recent reporting about allegations against César Chavez is devastating and deeply disturbing. Dolores Huerta’s courage in speaking out deserves to be met with respect, compassion, and solidarity. We can honor the farmworkers, organizers, and everyday people who built that movement without excusing abuse or turning away from the truth.
