Over the past three years, the Nature+ project has worked with communities to support the land, people, and institutions that depend on it across Ethiopia, Kenya, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe. 🌱
Using local knowledge, the program focuses on building resilience through restored landscapes and sustainable livelihoods. While conservation agriculture is a key part of this work, Nature+ goes beyond it to support activities people may not always associate with restoration, including beekeeping, improved access to water, and opportunities to sell goods in local markets.
This #EarthDay, we celebrate the impact of Nature+ and the sustainable practices helping to strengthen livelihoods, improve food systems, and restore land for generations to come.
The Nature+ project is funded in partnership with @CanadaDev.

In times of ongoing crisis, prayer is one way we can respond with hope and care.
Over the coming months, we’ll be sharing prayers written and recorded by Foodgrains Bank staff for the people of Sudan. As conflict and hunger continue in this region, we invite you to join us in praying for families, communities, and our members' local partners who are enduring this crisis.
Today, we begin with this prayer from our team member Lorena Rivera.
Almighty Lord,
Today, we pray for the people of Sudan. Though this crisis may seem far away, it is not far from us who follow Jesus Christ. Remind us that He knew suffering and stood with the oppressed. Help us to see His face in those who are displaced, hungry, and forgotten.
Do not let distance make our hearts indifferent. When we sit at our tables in peace, remind us of those who do not know where their next meal will come from. When we go about our ordinary lives in safety, help us remember those whose lives have been broken by war.
Give us hearts that remain open to the suffering of our sisters and brothers in Sudan, and the courage to care, to pray, and to act with compassion.
Amen.
- Lorena Rivera, Nature+ MEL Coordinator at Canadian Foodgrains Bank
