As someone who is still recovering from a gunshot to the head, I am heartbroken and infuriated that Ralph Yarl now faces a lifetime of recovery.

At 16 years old. For simply ringing a doorbell.

This is 16 year old Ralph Yarl of Kansas City. He accidentally rung the doorbell of the wrong home when he tried to pick up his sibling. A white man shot him twice in the head as a response. Ralph is fighting for his life. This is a hate crime and that man is still free.

Meet 16 year old Ralph Yarl who was shot twice after accidentally ringing the wrong doorbell while attempting to pick up his sibling. The resident shot Ralph in the head through the glass door then when Yarl was bleeding out on the ground, shot him again.

Ralph Yarl. A 16 year old Black baby boy was shot because he went to the wrong door (as he attempted to pick up his siblings). He was shot in the head and again as he bled out on the ground.

His shooter- a white man- is free.

So many things I can say but for now- just extreme sadness. Gratitude that he’s still alive. Also- I’m tired of this shit.

Black boys deserve to grow up.

In Texas, an 18 year old can buy two AR-15s and 1,600 bullets in the span of two days.
In the state of Florida, you can carry concealed weapons and firearms without a background check, training or a license.

The news of the school shooting in Nashville has left the country in a state of shock and grief. Yet Marjorie Taylor Greene's controversial comments blaming Joe Biden, Democrats, and gun control advocates only add to the outrage.

Her lack of empathy and misplaced priorities were as baffling as they were infuriating.

Instead of expressing sympathy for the families of the victims, she used the opportunity to call for more guns on school campuses.

As the nation mourns again after another mass shooting, lPresident Joe Biden called for stricter regulations on assault weapons. Greene on the other hand insists on placing the safety of guns over the safety of children.

Her shameful comments are a stark reminder of just how far we've strayed from common sense.

As the investigation into the Covenant School shooting continues, and we learn more about the identities of the victims and the shooter, what is clear is that this was a day that shattered lives, that left many wondering when enough will finally be enough.
