@hf_222222 I think so too, or at least not just from sacramental reception of the Eucharist. As for the more mystical aspects of the mystery; a few statements abt the Eucharist from StJPII and its foundational role in the Church never left me ever since I read them.
@hf_222222 Abt the universal call to holiness, the Eucharist I think is foundational to what that means, no? That ours is not a muscular attempt to climb the mountain so to speak *by ourselves* but with God in ways which are more profound than I can express.
@HarrierMagnus@hf_222222 “If any one sees his brother committing what is not a deadly sin, he will ask, and God will give him life for those whose sin is not deadly. There is sin which is deadly; I do not say that one is to pray for that. All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin which is not deadly.”
@HarrierMagnus@hf_222222 Bc there’s an equivocation. I think Pope Francis established a discernment process for what worthy/unworthy means concretely in some cases. These aren’t just artificial categories, they mean something and he wanted pastoral guidance to reflect that.
@hf_222222 So in the AL controversy, it’s only fussy casuistry if the Eucharist is seen as a prize for the perfect, in which case you’d be 100% right. But that’s explicitly not what Francis’ theology of nourishment says it was.
@hf_222222 That’s an interesting way to put it but I don’t think it’s right. Pope Francis didn’t want to get away with a technicality but rather see the person’s truest relationship with God.
@nonnullis02@_CLancellotti You’ll be happy to know we’re actually not doing well;) I find political stability in Italy rarely translates in prosperity. Our best years were very unstable, imo it’s an artificial metric of dubious value anyway.
