@4am_xo@NFL_DF I like your comps, I think Tate is a better route runner than Pickens and he's not as dependent on contested catching as Pickens, but I see the vision.
@tweets20201@SR_TheInscriber@LedyardNFLDraft All I'm saying is the scouting of these WRs are off, because they are listed as being limited at the Pro level because of being slot only guys. They are proving you can run your offense through them and they can threatened at all 3 levels of the field.
@tweets20201@SR_TheInscriber@LedyardNFLDraft The draft projections for those wideouts. The common consensus was those guys would almost exclusively be slot only at the pro level. Specifically JSN and Egbuka, Jefferson more less it was aid he was better in the slot and was questionable how dominant he would be outside.
@tweets20201@SR_TheInscriber@LedyardNFLDraft Jerry Rice was 100% an outside X WR it's not just about size but about where they line up on the field and them being a WR1. Egbuka and JSN were scouted to be purely slot WRs that was the consensus, but they can actually be WR1s. Even JJETTAS was projected as primarily a slot.
@tweets20201@SR_TheInscriber@LedyardNFLDraft That does not disprove my point: the NFL has placed a premium on big X-WRs *over* smaller WRs who are deemed as "slot only." Most teams still had exclusive designated X and slot receiver who wouldn't cross position on the field. Jerry Rice wasn't playing out of the slot.
@tweets20201@SR_TheInscriber@LedyardNFLDraft You're making it seem that was always the case, but I'm not so sure. The standard has been for a large big body X-WR to play outside. And guys like Egbuka and JSN would probably not be early 1st round picks. There is a reason they were thought of as being "slot only."
@tweets20201@SR_TheInscriber@LedyardNFLDraft I think the difference is those guys can be WR1s now. And Egbuka and Jaxon Smith-Njigba were projected to be slot only guys at the Pro level, but they are not.
@tweets20201@SR_TheInscriber@LedyardNFLDraft You're not far off, but I would counter that most teams still wanted a dominant big body X-WR to win 1-on-1 mathups down the field outside the numbers. Rice was still that boundary outside WR that won a ton of outside mathups. He was still a typical X-WR.
@MacdevittTommy@LedyardNFLDraft Chase is... not to the degree of AJ Green, Julio, Terrell Owens etc but he is sorta the today's equivalent. Of all the WRs listed he is probably the most physically gifted.
@ET_Da_Legend @LukasWydd @LedyardNFLDraft Maybe... but Puka is a very physical WR. No doubt he benefits in that McVay system, but he is better than most at taking full advantage of it.
@TheGreatDXA@MickyMouse53231 If you limit your opponents opportunity to score thus enjoy low PPG that is an effective strategy. Granted our secondary is not great if we don't have another outside corner to place McDuffie in the slot.
