The same institutions that control the narrative also control the discovered evidence that supposedly validates the narrative.
That's the Achilles heel.

A light casts a shadow. You shouldn't hide the light because of how the shadow responds to the existence of light. We play the light and we play the shadow. From either side, you see what truth is objectively, no matter your perspective, if you know you are the shadow. The real sin is playing the shadow and thinking you are the light.

People expect the creator to hold forever as proof of belief, but if he did and openly promoted it into a massive rise, they would accuse him of manipulating the market for personal gain.
So if he sells, it’s “he doesn’t believe.”
If he holds and benefits, it’s “he pumped his own bags.”
The only ethical middle ground for someone already deeply tied to the asset may actually be reducing exposure, because otherwise every statement, success, or price movement becomes conflicted by personal incentive.
@JoelKatz The future is subscription cars. The road to hell is paved in good intentions. Systems created, systems applied. Sad if you enjoy the art of the motor vehicle.
I understand David's system framing, but that explains how it’s supposed to work. Wendy is pointing to how it’s actually operating, and the gap between the two is the problem. If a system meant to represent the people acts against them, that points to a failure of representation and possible overreach of authority. Systems can be designed in many ways, but those defending their own will never say that.
@JoelKatz@CryptoWendyO Within a system where ownership includes conditions, what constraints exist on how far recurring fee liabilities can be extended before ownership loses its meaning?
@JoelKatz@CryptoWendyO Do you agree with the distinction you made? It seems to lead into the idea of liabilities attached to ownership, specifically, the difference between absolute ownership and conditional ownership.
@JoelKatz@kaereste David’s pointing out that the logic is flawed, equating ability with obligation and guilt doesn’t hold at a higher, system-level view (like with God and the existence of good and evil), so you need more nuanced thinking about responsibility and governance.
