Results: Benign! The last week has been incredibly stressful waiting for my cancer pathology report. Add on a difficult summer in losing my mother. Today is amazing relief. No words to describe how happy I am. It is a gift to exist. Make the most of it.
I climbed Mt. Doom 🌋🇳🇿
Mt. Ngauruhoe, otherwise known as Mt. Doom from Peter Jackson’s trilogy Lord of the Rings, is located nearly central on the North Island. For more than a month, I waited for the weather to clear and get the opportunity to climb this stunning volcano.
Like out of a movie setting, clouds rolled across the volcano in easily 50mph sustained winds. The climb is steep. There is no trail to the summit. No cairns. You must be extremely experienced to even attempt. Every step up is a step you’re sliding down as well.
The stats are unreal. 70 miles, 10,500 elevation gain all in 16 hours. While they’re different, what they do have in common is unparalleled beauty. Keep it going @newzealand. Let’s see what you got.
Two incredible runs 🏃🏻 in three days: Kepler and Rakiura. Considered two of the nine great tracks in @newzealand and they couldn’t be more different in terrain. One in the mountains ⛰️ with sweeping views of lakes and alpine. One on an island 🏝️ through tropics and beaches.
@twitter now like @BonJovi (living on a prayer). I’m training, running, climbing and still offering the best views you can see. The best bosses make you feel the joy like my photo climbing the incline @VisitCOS. The worst bosses make you feel the sufferfest and nothing more.
@SteveJelinek2 @Colorado Thanks Steve. I hope you enjoyed those adventures as much as I did hiking/making them myself. I truly was blown away hiking glacier
