“When this issue was presented to us, I was actually really surprised that we took up a proposal that has really not been subject to any real review or scrutiny, especially when our own CLA (Chief Legal Advisor) had advised that further study is required to determine if this was feasible. That alone probably warranted a no vote the first time, but knowing that there were already enough votes to move this, I listened to the discussion,”

— Councilwoman Traci Park

“It’s simple: only Americans should vote in American elections,” Jordan (R-Ohio) said. “Congresswoman Lee’s amendment is a common-sense proposal that creates a uniform, nationwide standard that will protect federal elections permanently.”

“Requiring voters to be U.S. citizens ensures that the people making decisions about our government are those who are permanent members of our nation and communities.”

Most people will just see the headline: 750,000 signatures submitted.

But what that number actually represents is thousands of conversations, countless volunteer hours, and people all across Michigan stepping up because they care about the future of our state.

Today the Citizens Only Voting constitutional amendment campaign submitted more than 750,000 signatures to the Michigan Bureau of Elections to place this proposal on the ballot.

Over 17,000 volunteer circulators helped collect those signatures. That kind of grassroots effort doesn’t happen without people who are willing to show up, put in the work, and engage their communities.

I’m incredibly proud that Victory Field Operations had the opportunity to partner with MICHCOV to help lead the volunteer collection effort. Watching so many volunteers across Michigan step up for this effort has been truly inspiring.

The signatures now head to the Michigan Secretary of State’s office for certification, which will determine whether this constitutional amendment appears on the November 2026 ballot.

Regardless of where someone stands on an issue, the ability of citizens to organize and bring proposals directly to the ballot is one of the most powerful parts of our democratic process.

And today was a major milestone in that process.

“This is a simple constitutional amendment that I believe most citizens will support and makes it consistent throughout the state that only U.S. citizens can vote in any West Virginia election."

We took particular interest in 1:21 to 2:03 of AAG Dhillon's message.

What do you think?

"We've checked 47.5 million voter records. We found 260,000 plus dead people enrolled in the state's voter rolls, which is pretty concerning. They're going to be removed with the help of the DOJ. And finally, that there are several thousand non-citizens who are enrolled to vote in federal elections.

This is very concerning. And the DOJ is partnering with local law enforcement where appropriate, to prosecute people who have unlawfully voted in our elections. Even one person voting who shouldn't have voted is one too many, because every citizen is entitled to one person, one vote assumption that their vote is being counted equally and only with other American citizens."

— Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon

Under @AGPamBondi, @CivilRights has been hard at work delivering results for America!

• 14 states sued for voter rolls
• 4 states willingly complied
• NC cleaning up over 100k registrations
• 260k dead registrants identified
• Thousands of non-citizens identified

“This is common sense, consistent with what Alaskans have long assumed the law already says.”

ARTICLE: Some may wonder why we are nitpicking over a single word — may. But legal language matters. Our statutes specifically require that anyone circulating a petition be a U.S. citizen. Yet when it comes to voter qualifications, the language weakens. The existing statute states that a person may vote if they are a U.S. citizen, but it does not require them to be.

“Over 80% of people support the need to use government-issued photo ID to vote. Only citizens are eligible to vote in our election we know of over a dozen cases last year where non-citizens may have cast ballots. We need to plug the holes in our system now to ensure there is integrity in our elections.”

— State Sen. Ruth Johnson, R-Holly

The ballot initiative by Alaskans for Citizen Voting (ACV), was recently approved to begin gathering signatures from across the state.

If voters approve the measure, Alaska will join the growing list of states that have moved decisively to protect the integrity of their voter rolls from non-citizen voting schemes.

"Joe Ceballos, who garnered nearly 83% of the vote Tuesday for a second term as Coldwater mayor, was charged with three counts of voting without being qualified and three counts of election perjury. Both are felony offenses."
